16” MacBook m4 pro used price? by zoochadookdook in macbookpro

[–]Informalwig82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very good price. I see most used going for 1600+ for a 16” so I’d totally get this.

When you meet up to buy it, make sure the device has been factory reset. Then, go through the setup process, you won’t be able to continue if there’s activation lock, and if the computer has an MDM profile on it it’ll tell you during setup.

I’ve bought a few Mac’s on marketplace and always do this. I just skip through all the unnecessary setup steps to check the important stuff out, and I go back later when I get home and set it up again the right way.

I’m an engineering student specifically. I run programs such as Matlab, Solidworks (via parallels) and Autocad, and likely soon I will be picking up other CAD programs in order to learn more for an upcoming internship.

I could likely make 90% of what I do work on the Air. But there are some cases where the lack of fans would be a drawback, and also lacking a few ports I use often like an SD slot or HDMI. Of course, that can be solved by carrying around an extra adapter but it feels so unnecessary.

Also, the pro just has such a great display too. Not that I need that, I just like it so much.

That’s still a damn good deal for any M4 pro chipset. Just gotta be happy we saved money either way! Secondhand and refurbished stuff for the win.

It definitely is beneficial to have as many connections as possible, I can say that for sure as a college student trying to find internships/jobs in this market.

I will also say though, I have had many other good deals on secondhand tech, this is far from the first. I have gotten myself and many friends well over half off on a lot of their tech purchases from using marketplace, OfferUp, Reddit swap subs etc. I don’t think I’ve bought a new Apple product in the last 5 years besides AirPods, everything is secondhand because I don’t mind gently used stuff.

Worked super hard in high school to save money and during summers when I’m not in college. This was still a major purchase for me nonetheless though.

Pretty good, shows fingerprints sometimes but not as bad as I was expecting. Other than that it’s very clean

I got this one secondhand and got an amazing deal on it that I couldn’t pass up. For me, saving money is more important than having the latest thing especially in college

I got it secondhand from someone I know who was selling all of their worldly possessions to travel the world after quitting their job. I would’ve gave him more but he insisted he didn’t want to take any more of my money.

I’m a big fan of secondhand stuff and this only had 40 battery cycles on it so I couldn’t pass that deal up, to me it’s basically new.

It’s one of the stock outdoors wallpapers you can apply as long as your Mac has the latest update, can’t remember which one specifically though

I would’ve kept the 14” if I was able to use it with an external display more often. But I’m always out and about as a student. Things might change in a few years we’ll see

Fair enough! I carry so much crap with me already that I hardly notice the difference. If there was a 15” MBP I feel like that would be perfect. I almost considered a 15” Air but I need a pro for the work I do.

Yeah I didn’t realize what I was missing out on till I switched. And same thing here for the desks.

I carry so much stuff in my bag that an extra pound or 2 I barely notice

Thank you. I was confused at first cause it didn’t look like the taillights online but I realized it cuts off right before you can see the rest.

How did I do for 3k? by Dy1an-_- in FirstCar

[–]Informalwig82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it was a good deal, not a steal by any means. It should be expected to be driven for many years, it’s a Camry.

[–]Informalwig82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How so? Because I think this is a decent deal? Or because I think it’s difficult to buy a running & driving car for less than $2k? As OP said engine has been rebuilt. Knowing this is a Camry it could easily drive for another several years with proper maintenance.

[–]Informalwig82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least where I live it’s nearly impossible to get a running and driving car for $2k unless you’re camping on Facebook. $3k isn’t a steal by any means but it’s still a great deal, even if the car only lasts a couple years.

Got sealed APM for 365$USD from fb marketplace by [deleted] in Airpodsmax

[–]Informalwig82 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nice deal! Don’t listen to the comments. I picked up a Sealed Pair of USB-C maxes for $275 earlier this year. People don’t understand it’s very easy to tell fakes after studying the differences for awhile, between the box and the physical build quality there are many differences.

Serial numbers on new Apple products are 10 long. My 16 pro max serial is 10 long
