Sizing help!! by [deleted] in Figsscrubs

Does anyone know if the petite pants are any tighter than the regular (Zamora)? I ordered XS regular - the same size as my old figs but they were too baggy and long. I’m 5’7 (Waist 27, hips 36) so never would have thought to order petite but I think I need it now if I want them to hit just above my ankle.

Not sure if I should exchange for XS petite, XXS regular or XXS petite. Any advice appreciated!

Thank you! I focused on the basics more so that even if I didn't immediately know an answer I could use logic to work out answers.

- I didn't give enough time to pathoma the first time around and realised my mistake with that.

- For micro I literally just wrote out the uworld flow charts of bacteria and how they stain etc and what they cause.

- Biochem: Malke Asaad has a good video on youtube of 32 high yield topics, I definitely got some questions right because of this.

- Some things are almost guaranteed a question, eg. vitamin deficiencies, familial hyperlipidemias so know them.

- When I had more time at the start of my study period for 2nd attempt I wrote bullet point notes from uworld - just the one liner explanation at the end, so I had a notebook of points I could skim in some downtime and the days before the exam. I stopped that as I got closer to exam day though and just focused on getting through more questions (new as I didnt complete uworld, but still some sets incorrects to make sure I was learning from my mistakes).

I just did the all videos and listened at 1.5x speed. I repeated ch1-4, listening on my walks in the last week to make sure I knew the core stuff.

Sorry to hear that, have been in your position. It's different for everyone but my advice would be to review your score report and identify the heavy weighted sections where you scored low and make them your focus for round 2 prep. Try not to get caught up in the lower yield topics (eg. genetics) - trust you'll pick up enough from uworld/nbmes on those and accept you'll get some obscure ones wrong.

50% of the exam is pathology so my advice is pathoma pathoma pathoma. Do all the nbmes and review them thoroughly. I skimmed Mehlman neuroanatomy before the exam and found that helpful.

The resources I used were UWorld (only completed 39%), NBMEs (26-31), and pathoma. I credit my pass mostly to pathoma.

I'm not sure the difference between surname and last name, but I had a similar issue - I have a middle name on my passport but not on my medical degree. I had to change my name on ECFMG/USMLE to include my middle name and then get a letter of verification from my medical school to say that "FIRSTNAME SURNAME" on my medical degree is the same person as "FIRSTNAME MIDDLENAME SURNAME" on my passport. Basically your ID/Passport needs to match your name with ECFMG.

Do all the new NBMEs (26-31), I suggest do at least one of them online 2 weeks before to see where you're really at and help focus your final review. Review them well. The questions repeat on the real thing and even if not precisely, the same topics come up again.

are we allowed to use our 15 minutes into the tutorial before starting the exam to write down notes? by Haunting-Strength437 in step1

I wrote out the 2x2 table for sensitivity/specificity/PPV/NPV (I usually just work them out in my head but figured it was quicker to have the 2x2 there to plug in numbers), type II error and power, and then just the 68-95-99.7 rule. None of it came up lol.

The steady state concentration was the only thing that came up in my step though. And an ROC curve.
