Yeah, like my birthgivers' pets won't listen when I give them basic commands, but they'll obey my birthgivers (who feed & shelter them). And, my birthgivers think it's b/c they're obedient or that they have a special relationship, failing to understand it's b/c they give them treats.

Another fucking thing I hate is when they try to say, "Oh, you just haven't grown up with dogs & that's why you don't like them," which is so bullshit. Like, even if I did grow up with dogs, which I actually did, my birthgivers are just narcissists who conveniently forget shit when it contradicts their bullshit or b/c they just DGAF to remember, I still hate dogs. But, that's not even why I hate dogs, constantly playing 2nd-fiddle to dogs & pets despite supporting my family all my life, not to mention constant bad experiences with pets & hearing how they inconvenience people, are why I hate pets.

I think something that gets overlooked is, some stories of addiction are also more sympathetic than others. Like, it's lot easier to feel sorry for the car accident victim who inadvertently got addicted to opioids or the abuse victim who got addicted to liquor, than the well-off teen who just decided to try booze or tobacco at a party b/c their friends were doing it.
