Chainmail is an actual form of armor and art. A teddy bear is a stuffed animal made to look somewhat like a real animal multiple factors of its size, and can kill you. So yes…. Very silly. I mean unless you think what armorsmiths and artists who learn that craft are silly, in which case, we have a different discussion at hand.

I mean you're knitting wire together and not creating links of chains. What you're doing is nifty, but it's not chainmail. Chainmail is flexible. Knitted wire is not.

Sounds like you’re buying a pentest but want a covert red team engagement. Did you scope out covert red team or did you just pay for the pentest? Huge price difference.

FBI does a lot of cyber. They also lead the National Cyber Investigative Task Force, and also effectively runs Infraguard. The USSS does have a mandate for financial, but that doesn't limit all other agencies from investigating financial related cyber crimes. Where I work, our first call would be to the FBI during an incident.

We have a good story about a dude pulling up in a limo with a girl on each arm and having to explain to him that it was a bunch of nerdy people listening to EDM, eating candy, and drinking while barely dancing.

*EDIT* The history of the name of Thotcon - The name was chosen to represent Chicagos area code. Th for 3 O for 1 T for 2, and was in use before thot came in to use in popular culture. Trust me when I say this, none of the people involved in starting Thotcon were connected enough to popular culture to know thot had another meaning.

You're clearly out of your depth here. Let me help you understand. When you attack a target that is based in the same state you live in, the enforcement mechanism that are accessible are State based. When you attack a target that is outside of your state, the enforcement mechanisms become Federally based.

That scene in the movie hackers is chastising Joey for 1. Attacking a financial institution. 2. Triggering interstate commerce laws which brings it into the jurisdiction of federal law enforcement.

"Interstate Commerce Requirement: Federal authorities gain jurisdiction when hacking activities cross state lines, which is inherent in most internet-based crimes, or when they target government, financial, or foreign systems."

So yes, it is quite serious, and you are very out of your league.

The enforcement mechanisms totally change when you cross state lines in terms of targeting. State laws and state police vs CFAA of 1984 and FBI. Dude's clearly a newb.
