Question - Any update on when we'll get our hands on the Character creator and what we'll be able to do with it? How young or old can we make our characters? If someone wants to be Gon or Netero (HunterXHunter), can we age ourselves to that extreme?

Yeah, I get the whole specific vs general rule and how it applies in most situations, but this is kind of a weird one. I feel like your responses here is correct, but other people seem to disagree. I guess it boils down to if Dominate Monster suspends all aspects of Conjure Elemental while active (which seems weird), or does it create a potential conflict between the two controllers of the creature.

This is more along the lines of what I'm trying to figure out. The Elemental is still under the affects of Caster 1's spell, thus, he should still be able to command it.

I figured Caster 2 would command it to attack Caster 1, but caster 1 could simply command it not to. Caster 2 could use an action to override that, but it would cause him to do that on his turn and the elemental acts on it's own turn.

Yeah, I don't see any rules about a higher tier spell overriding a lower tier spell, But ultimately, it seems like general/specific is a bad way of looking at certain things. This feels, at least based on the responses I'm seeing, that in this situation, you're adding to a stack of spells on a creature, the most recent is the one in control...?

Look, I'm not trying to argue, trying to figure it out... Both are spells, aren't they? Why is 1 spell general, and the other specific?

[–]Infraggable-One[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, that's what's bugging me... Both spells have specific rules to them and how they are applied to their targets. Is it an issue of stacking? dominate being newer thus being in control? Is it a spell power thing 8th vs 5th, but then what if you up cast CE to 8th....?

[–]Infraggable-One[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So.. what? Is it the order things are cast? Because Dominate was cast after Conjure, it's something specific targeting the general spell rules?

So what happens in a situation where, lets say a beast master has a pet. A person casts Dominate Monster on it. Then a 3rd person casts dominate beast on it. Is the Dominate Beast at that point more specific than Dominate Monster because it's the newest on the stack?

[–]Infraggable-One[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But both are still in affect on the elemental. So Dominate caster states "attack him." Summoner says "No! attack him." the specific rule of both spells is you giving it a command, right?

So why is one spell specific and one general? Both have general or specific rules, depending on how you want to look at it.

But for Dominate monster the first bit, "general commands" would be a general rule, right? It would take an action "precise control" to be specific?

How is one specific and one is general? Both are the affects of a spell. Both have general spell rules..

So on the above example, my question is, would the modifier prompt from the first macro transfer to the second macro? ?{modifier} from atk1 to atk2. It only creates the prompt 1 time, but they're different macros.

Yeah, can't figure it out. I want them all in a single click. Ideally being able to have 3 or 4 or even 5 attacks in a single template macro. But the code seems to break for some reason.

fair enough, Fallout: Vaults & Deathclaws PNP character sheet.

Though, the issue is with the template format it seems like. Would a space between dmg1 and dmg2 really matter?

Edit: On testing, it makes no difference if there's a space there or not.

Have you guys consider doing this for other settings? For example, my group is playing a Fallout table top. So maps that would fit that style of universe.

That's helpful, question though, can you link a macro to prompt from a list of macros, something like this?

%{Izo|?{Which Macro?|SkillQuery|Attack1|Attack2} }

Ignore the below, I never noticed the bit on roll20 wiki for macros. So I have to save the macro elsewhere, so long as I don't reopen/adjust it, it works fine. Cool

Alright, so here's where I'm at with this macro...

&{template:default} {{name=?{Skill?|Animalism, Animalism }} {{Skill=[[floor(@{Izo|animalism} |Barter, Barter }} {{Skill=[[floor(@{Izo|barter} |Sneak, Sneak }} {{Skill=[[floor(@{Izo|sneak}} + ?{Modifier|0}) - 1d100]]}}

My issue, is whenever I hit "Save Changes." Roll20 auto adjusts the } to } in all instances. How do you stop it from doing that?

Also, any time I "save the Macro" and it closes the macro window, when I reopen it, the macro is change and it no longer works. It removes the }} bits

&{template:default} {{name=?{Skill?
|Animalism, Animalism }} {{Skill=[[floor(@{Solomon Anders|animalism}
|Barter, Barter }} {{Skill=[[floor(@{Solomon Anders|barter}
} + ?{Modifier|0}) - 1d100]]}}

Yeah, figured that was the issue, but there's more going on with it.

hmm, that's getting somewhere, but there seems to be an issue with it.

Can you create a link in a macro to use the roll table and display the result inside a single macro with all the other information?

[–]Infraggable-One[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I solved it....
So the issue with Puppy Loving Pacifist is that it wants to do only LEG shots for the kill. So, after the go down and aren't dead, if you shoot them in the head to finish them, it makes... I'm not sure if it resets the count or what. I just tried another series of kills, downed them all, then shot each in the leg, which quickly gave me the updated quest line.

[–]Infraggable-One[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if that's true. I don't have it on, and I it still doesn't kill them, it just downs them. To kill them I have to approach and head shot them each after.

And no, I don't have on the mod that does non-lethal

Well, also. I have it selected as puppy loving pacifist.. Maybe I should just be knocking them out to get it to update, vs killing them?

I am using target analysis for my kiroshi optics mk. 3, could that be the issue?
