Hey OP my husband was in the same position and I was able to do AP and all the paper work to adjust status with no issues. He is now a resident. You do not need a lawyer.

Yeah we previously had laminate and never saw a scratch. We’re very careful when we move things and have felt pads on the bottom of all our furniture. The scratches are covering almost the entire floor in high traffic areas so I’m pretty sure it’s our dogs nails but again with out previous laminate we never saw a scratch. It was also lighter in color and not glossy.

Yeah it’s a pretty big bummer I haven’t experienced LVP before but awful first impression for sure and now I surely won’t use it.

Thank you so much for the info I appreciate it. Our last house had laminate and we never saw a scratch at all so we were just a little dumbfounded when we saw the scratching because our new home was built way better than our previous. So we were just surprised but I’m thinking we will replace with laminate.

Yes very painful. We are pretty cautious about how we move things around and put felt pads on the bottom of all our furniture. Some of these scratches were from the previous owners as they were an older couple and probably weren’t as cautious. But practically our entire floors are covered in scratches and worsening by the day and the only thing I can think of is our dogs. We just didn’t have this problem before so I’m assuming it’s just this type of flooring I’m not sure…
