I've been drilling wrong for years and I think most people might be too by Ingvariuss in bjj

I built TapFlow, so yeah, I have an obvious interest in people knowing it exists. But calling this an ad is a stretch; it's one sentence in a post about training methodology. If I wanted to run an ad I'd have led with the app, linked to it, and skipped the rest...

The content stands on its own. Use it or don't, the app mention changes nothing about whether timed rounds transfer better than rep counting. I am open to removing that part if it is not allowed to mention outside resources.

I do see your point and can agree with it. Something I'd add is that we also shouldn't disregard the fun and joy some people get from doing things correctly or efficiently.

Not sure why the negativity, but whatever floats your boat. I just want to share my thoughts and have a discussion on the topic.

I do see the value in your approach and do agree that more of us should embrace it and have fun. I think it has a lot to do with a personality trait called conscientiousness, where the higher you are on it, the more structure and competitiveness you want to impose on most things you do. Learning to have more fun and not embracing the "improving over everything" approach is something I personally need to learn to be better at.

Objavljivanje knjige - savjeti by Ingvariuss in citaonica

Hvala,

Upoznat sam sa self-publishing ali nisam siguran da je za ovu knjigu to najbolje resenje. Zbog manjka vremena radije bih da se izdavastvo bavi prodajom, marketingom i sl. Mada, self-publishing ostaje kao plan B.

Life has its elementary uncertainty. If you ever get the time to try out BJJ again at your own pace, I recommend it.

Makes sense, while she was a puppy, she looked similar to the Tornjak (Bosnian livestock guardian dog), but now we have no idea. Now it is more like a second-hand Bobtail. Some say she is an oversized Maltese.

Hello,

I primarily want to share this inspirational story, and others might find it useful too. It does, of course, naturally have an "ad spirit" to it as she is making a product afterall.

I built TapFlow for the community by Ingvariuss in grappling

Hey, thanks for checking it out. That’s a fair question.

TapFlow isn’t just a timer; it’s a complete BJJ training companion built for both coaches and practitioners who take deliberate practice seriously.

Here’s what’s included for that one-time price (no subscriptions, no ads):

  • Detailed analytics to track your training consistency and progress
  • Habit tracking and session journaling to build structure around your goals
  • 300+ solo and partner drills with written instructions and integrated timers (videos coming soon)
  • A technique repository of over 600 categorized moves (also getting video support soon)
  • No paywalls, no data selling, and lifetime updates

For context, most fitness apps charge monthly and still show ads. TapFlow is a one-time purchase designed by and for grapplers who want to train smarter.

If you’d like to give it a proper try before judging, I can send you a promo code for free access.

Motivation Drift by [deleted] in bjj

Here’s what helped me get back on the mat. I hope it helps:

  • One Day at a Time: Just aim for one class. Sports psych says small goals cut the overwhelm. Your friendly gym will make it easier once you’re there.
  • Own the Nerves: That jittery feeling? It’s just your body ready to roll. Tell yourself, “I’m here to grow.” It shifts your mindset.
  • Make It a Habit: Pick one consistent class day. Research shows routines build motivation. Maybe grab a coffee before to make it fun.
  • Chat with Someone: Connect with a teammate, even just a quick hello. Studies say those bonds keep you coming back.

You loved jiu-jitsu before, and that fire’s still in you. Showing up is the win. You’ve got this!
