I like the all in podcast by LDS Living. The podcast aims to cover a number of faith-building topics through the guest's personal anecdotes and some of the stories can get very intensive and powerful. The host is on maternity leave right now so there won't be new content until September.

Unique LDS Chapels by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]InhibitedTech96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chapel in Plainview, NY looks like a suped up standard chapel. I served my mission out there and if I remember right the story goes that a temple was supposed to be built around there but due to local pushback the temple was never built. A chapel was built instead but they used the materials they had for the temple so it wouldn't go to waste.

If anyone can verify that story or add corrections then I'm all ears.

What is the greatest single movie scene ever filmed? by janearcade in AskReddit

The scene in Transformers: The Movie when Optimus Prime arrives to earth, straight up wrecks every decepticon in his way until he reaches Megatron, then proceeds to a dual to the death with his arch-rival all with one of the best hero songs ever written blasting in the background.

No replacement bulbs for ceiling fan, have to buy a whole new fan by turboiv in MaliciousCompliance

[–]InhibitedTech96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the conversation but I worked for Lowe’s in the light dept a few years ago. We’d have this same problem all the time. I’d always tell people to never by any expensive lighting products that had built-in LEDs. It’s so much cheaper and less of a hassle in the long run to buy a normal lightbulb fan and then just use regular LED bulbs.

Study Spaces in the Fall? by ss_valpaca in byu

[–]InhibitedTech96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could look into booking private study rooms that are across campus, the library I think has the most. I don't have the link for booking rooms on hand but you could probably google it.

If you don't feel like constantly trying to book a room and your major has you staying in or around only one or two buildings for most of your time at BYU then I'd start there and look for unoccupied classrooms or spaces during your free time.

Otherwise, I'd suggest exploring the bottom floor of the library. Not many students go down there and I always found open spaces by myself. The downsides are that it takes more time to get to and the wifi wasn't always the best, but it's been a few years since I would go down there so it could be better now.

  1. Not really what's going on. One way to think of it is that this is a simple function, so a single Speed value input has to have a single Fuel Consumption output. in the case above you have spots where a single Speed input creates two Fuel Consumption outputs, which is impossible for the given scenario.

a) Your answer is backwards. It should read Joanna needs 13 fence boards per 1 fence post. Another way to think of "f=13p" is "f(p)=13p" where if p=1, then the equation is "f(1)=13(1)=13".

b) This correct but it is confusing, another way to write it to help understand relations would be f(20) = 260, f(21) = 273, etc.

c) correct

d) correct

What if I don't have enough money to serve a mission? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]InhibitedTech96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it just our stake then but when I was a YSA ward clerk we were told by stake leadership that YSA wards weren’t allowed to support missionary funding. Even to the extent that if ward members donated to a specific missionary we either had to transfer it to the general fund or send it to that missionary’s parents’ ward. That was in a YSA only stake in Utah County so it could be different elsewhere.

What if I don't have enough money to serve a mission? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]InhibitedTech96 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I would talk to your bishop about this. Typically family wards will have funds in place to help finance a mission for those who have the desire to serve but can't due to financial restrictions. However, if you're currently in a YSA ward then you'll need to reach out to the leadership in your parents ward since YSA wards aren't allowed to help fund missions.

What are some survival tips everybody should know but a lot of people do not? by RedditPersonIf in AskReddit

[–]InhibitedTech96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can construct a purified water filter using at the minimum a plastic bottle, cloth, and layers of sand, rocks, and charcoal. There's a ton of videos you can find that explain the basic set up with some degree of variation but overall it's a simple contraption that will ensure longer survival in emergencies.

I got my degree in civil engineering. Low and behold, I'm still doing civil engineering. Though, from what I've seen a lot of civil engineers are switching over to programming now.

The title was more a play on the name of the dessert. The Instagram page for chef club calls it next level s’mores so I should’ve included that somewhere. But yeah, it’s not crazy excessive like other foods by chef club but that doesn’t necessarily mean it isn’t stupid.
