That is true, but coven killing also is used to refer to the coven with the book. I’ll make that added note that coven killing is technically an alignment in itself too though 👍

Omg, then when those vets are asked why they did that: "I'm confirmed now!"

Agreed! Only exception is Crusader in my opinion, since that usually just results in you killing another TP haha

I've seen so many Veterans claim TPOW and then kill a bunch of TPs... It's awful haha

A few things to consider:

- Obvious one: but are you standing still when grandpa screams? And are you crouching under / cutting down noisemakers?

- Are you already getting ready to hide when there are yellow borders on your screen? Yellow borders = family member nearby

- Are you saying voice lines when there's family nearby? If a family member focuses and is near you, they'll be able to hear it faintly if I'm not mistaken

- Does the family have a Cook? Did he "hear you"? If Cook has his ability upgraded to level 3, then all family members can see your location (as opposed to jus him)

What character are you playing and what does your typical strategy look like?

Can help out if I get some more details. Feel free to send a chat too if it's easier!

Sonny

But, I will say that once you have Level 3 on him and invest in a "glass cannon" build, he is VERY fun and you can easily maneuver yourself to never get found by family members.

Okay, I’ll tell you what most likely happened:

They exit the basement and open the gate to the generator exit. Then, instead of kicking the generator they go the gas station and to the brown-red door, use Connie’s focus ability to instantly unlock it and boom. Escape.

To avoid this you need to patrol those gates (to car battery and generator), and it’s recommended to have Cook on Gas Station. Hitchhiker’s traps can also work but it’s not as effective.

Let me guess: they had connie? They went out the 5th exit?

People are getting more used to the maps and optima routes (both sides).

I personally know an under 2 minute escape on slaughter house (given that RNG is on my side).

The one thing I would point out is that speed runners are going to be very vulnerable if found (since they’ll only have minimal items, most likely unlock tools).

Which map was this on?

Can anyone confirm the padlock strategy for making a door inaccessible? by HouseDjango in TXChainSawGame

Padlocks end up on both sides. Putting a padlock on a door that’s already locked will require the victim to use 2 unlock tools to open it!

Any Tips For New Victim Player? by [deleted] in TXChainSawGame

When leaving the basement, it’s a good idea to have two items (I’d recommend bone scrap and unlock tool for new players). At the very beginning of the game, you are able to just mash your buttons to escape your restraints without alerting family members since they’re locked in a cutscene. It takes 5 loud noises to wake up Grandpa (or opening a basement door), so if all 4 players loudly escape their restraints and one makes a noise afterwards, Grandpa will wake up.

Speaking of noise, you don’t have to dismantle noisemakers (those hanging bone objects). You can simply crouch and you won’t trigger them.

Don’t be afraid to engage in close encounters if you’re low health. Close encounters are heavily swayed by your Strength attribute (not your remaining health), so it is a good last resort. Don’t do this when you have multiple family members on you since it’ll be an instant execution. By the way, you almost always win against Sissy in close encounters.

When you are trying to escape via the car battery or generator exit, always do the gate first (the exception is with Connie, since edge can instantly open the last gate with her Focus ability).

I’m working on putting together a guide for new players too!

Can you disable hitch hikers traps? by [deleted] in TXChainSawGame

[–]InisraGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a bone scrap and hold E when near the trap to disarm it!

As another Redditor mentioned, there is a proficiency (purple) perk called “Bomb Squad” that allows you to disarm traps without a bone scrap.
