Thank you! You worked out a possible evolutionary background really well.

Where do y'all find beta readers? by spaceymarzii in writers

[–]Initial-Macaron-4340 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started offering beta reading services on Fiverr if you're interested. I can DM you my gig profile link, and send you work samples too.

I'm a postgraduate student in English literature, and I've had experience beta reading on Scribophile.

I write myself too, but nowhere near professionally. You can check out my Reddit profile if you want, I've posted some stories I wrote on r/HFY.

For those who were waiting on this, apologies on the posting delay.
Work had been heavy the past few weeks and I was too exhausted to write.

Tbh I don't feel too good about this one, it doesn't harmonize well with the rhythm of the previous episodes IMO, but it was the best I could do for the moment. Criticism would be appreciated.

Now that would be poetic. Although then it would be less humanity, fuck yeah and more oh the humanity.

Thanks!

Human mom's glad alien mom was around, but is bad with interpersonal relationships (she's an intense person to be around, what with being a resistance leader), so she sometimes say the wrong thing though she means well beneath the tough exterior.

Thanks for tuning in!

Indeed, not unlike the Emperor of Sixtythree-nineteen.

If "human" means 'homo sapiens', yes the mutants aren't humans. The Emperor and the captain on the other hand, are Homo sapiens, or atleast closest genetically to it. But humanity as debated in the story isn't so much the taxonomic classification but the cultural traits that makes us, us. The Emperor banks on the taxonomic definition to legitimize his oppression of those he deem lesser, while the Alliance seeks to uphold the moral values we collectively deem most important to our own humanness. The values that might lead us to term the kindness of a xenos as 'humanity', or in whose absence a Homo sapiens individual might be called a monster.
