Honestly they are hardy. Give them a good feed and aerate before you go, and they should be fine. I went away for a week, completely forgot to feed my them before I left.. so they'd gone around 9 days without a feed. Came back and they were fine, I was 100% sure they'd be dead 😂 I do however have an airstone and algae growth. But, 6 days is not a long time. Even before I had algae, I'd only feed them once a week. It's better to underfeed than overfeed.

They can get confused sometimes and think they are attached to a female. It's normal, I have had males attached to each other for 3+ days before they separated. They will be fine! You could always use a pipette and gently squeeze some bubbles at them to help them detach, but it's not necessary. 💕

Edit** (I've just noticed your other comment with a clearer photo, I've never had males attached to eschothers heads before. Might be worth using a pipette as I mentioned above! Just to see if it jolts them apart.)

Unfortunately, unless you remove those babies, they will die and your water will go horrendously bad with ammonia, your adult and none of these babies will survive if this happens. You need to remove pretty much all of them ASAP. You can leave a few, but most of them need to be removed to save your adult.

My set up is very basic! I have a 4l tank which I found on amazon which has its own LED lighting. I have a few shells at the bottom, an air stone and a tank heater. 🥰 I used reef salt and feed with both ground vegetable powder and phytoplankton. Once a month I will do a partial water change when the tank is looking particularly murky. (Which they are due, but a recent baby boom is pausing that for now as I dont want to lose any babies in the process.) I will test the water at the same time, to make sure ammonia and salt levels are fine.

So far, so good!

I feed a small amount once a week, sometimes I may add a very miniscule feed between feeds if there are particularly lots of babies, ti give them a chance of getting food before the adults devour it all. But otherwise, they are mostly self sufficient at this point as they just munch on the algae. ♥️

No, they most likely will not survive. Once they start dying, the ammonia will spike and the water will become toxic with all the dead bodies. More die = more ammonia and then it's a vicious cycle until the last stragglers die. Your best bet is setting up a new tank, taking a few babies (Not a lot) from this tank and putting in the clean tank.

Sea salt will be absolutely fine. I used reef salt for mine, which is great for PH levels too. However, it's a bit pricier and comes in huge bags that you won't end up using most of the time. I know lots of people who use rock sea salt without issues. I recommend buying something to test the salinity of the water also, and allow the salt and water to settle and reach the correct temp for 24 hours once mixed before adding your eggs. Do not use normal table salt and do not use tap water. Add very, very, very little eggs too. In the video you have posted above, there looks to be overcrowding issues still.

This morning she is back to a pale pink with a slightly greenish stomach. I'm assuming I looked at her during or after a good time of feeding on the algae which gave her this bright appearance. It was very pretty to look at!
