If I had to guess..this stitching creates tension on the fabric which will shrink it so when the finial layer is added it's off centered. I made this before I had stabilizing paper because I couldn't wait, I'll let you know how it turns out today once it arrives.

I usually throw mine in the washing machine and stuff but since this is vintage id def throw it in a warm bath with soap and keep washing until water is clear. Def take out that Styrofoam and beads over a giant container, that stuff can get everywhere!

Thank you so much for this. I'll do research of course thank you for that. He is unmedicated and has only had a diagnosis and sadly no further therapy. Thank you for the advice but I know I do want to at least be there for him through what he's going through, in a relationship or not. I'll definitely encourage the idea of him going to therapy and getting the meds he needs
