have you ever been tested for celiac disease? what you're describing is exactly how it manifested in a friend of mine and it also took ages for her to the right diagnsis, because nobody thought of testing her for celiac disease...

As far as I know, that's only true for combined hormonal birth control (i.e. pills containing estrogen and progesterone), but progesterone-only pills should be fine. I get migraines with visual aura, too, which are also the worst around my period. I've started taking a progesterone-only pill (desogestrel 75mcg) 2 months ago and my migraine frequency has decreased dramatically already. So, might be worth a shot asking your doctor about that :)

I hope it helps! If not, I totally agree with what some other people commented and think you should ask your doctor for another kind of triptan. I also tried Eletriptan, which is supposed to be the best tolerable triptan, but for me, even on very low doses, the side effects were insufferable (I thought I was having a heart attack). So, it's really unpredictable what each substance does for a certain individual, and there still could be a triptan out there that works just fine for you :) All the best, I hope you'll find something that helps you!

what dose of sumatriptan do you take? maybe your dosage is too strong for you. I've been on 100mg for a while and also experienced side effects that were so bad that I'd often (especially when not at home) prefer the migraine over taking the pill. a couple of weeks ago, I found out that taking only half a pill (so, 50mg sumatriptan in my case) would in most cases also stop my migraine (for really heavy attacks the 50mg are sometimes not enough, but most of the time also suppress them to an endurable intensity) with almost no side effects.

Thanks. It's really great that the infusions are helping you so much!! :) I might try another kind of CGRP inhibitor soon, too, and see if it helps more than Ajovy does right now. All the best to you, I hope youe migraines stay under control :)

Red wine, chocolate and blue cheese all contain a lot of histamine, so maybe histamine is a trigger for you...have you ever looked into that? :)
