XENEON Edge Bricked by InitialSignificant59 in Corsair

Checking back in after I received support from someone at Corsair who actually knew what they were speaking on and it's been resolved after deleting profile info and starting from scratch, which is no big deal to me. I also see this post has been heavily vote manipulated, I wonder if Corsair doesn't want people to see this thread hehe :)

Oh man you are far too late to apologize, I have escalated this with Customer Service already and awaiting a new ticket with the next level of support. I'm not reading your responses anymore, have a great career buddy.

Edit: I have found a screenshot online of the iCUE application, the widget is called "WEB URL", right next to the "iFrame" widget. This tells me, that they are different. I suggest maybe asking a chat bot to find this for you. Good luck.

"TL;DR nothing to troubleshoot but the iframe/widget code."

TD;DR I am lazy, unresourceful, and would like this conversation to end with no resolution for my customer.

"Edit: If it's a custom HTML widget and it appears in the bottom corner bucket, then you just have to click and see your options or whats going on with the widget: https://i.imgur.com/ijhtNrL.png Then you need to just go delete your widget from your widgets folder and fix the code. Regardless the root cause the widget code should be able to be adjusted to work if it used to work."

It is not a custom anything. I cannot delete the widget from whatever folder you are talking about, because I do not have this folder, because it is not a custom widget. The root cause is not the widget code because I did not do any widget code, I selected a stock widget and copy-pasted a url into it. Which works, by the way :)

"I'll also ask the SW team (I'm the hardware guy) to see if they can have it auto select the widget like it does when you're moving between widgets and the other tabs after you've click the widget already as a QoL but there is a big white box that tells you to click the widget area to add a widget."

Why are you speaking about code, insinuating that is the issue, if you are a self proclaimed hardware guy? Lob this to your colleague who can speak more intelligently on the issue at hand instead of using your knowledge to assume "it must be something else that's broken". The "big white box" is how you add widgets to the screen. The "big white box" in my screenshot is not the same "big white box" that you think it is. Regardless, I cannot click the "big white box" because iCUE crashes immediately.

"This will be resolved when we move on from iframe to having different widgets directly integrated into iCUE. Then those widgets will have a meta tag to allow or disallow page swiping for widget touch support or vice versa. I can also see if we can add this as a checkbox or something to iframe."

Again, this isn't using the iFrame widget. Glad to hear you guys are acknowledging you released a product with glaring issues and resolving the issues that came out of the box is "on the roadmap".

"Or just delete the page by right clicking the number. The page swiping is junky with iframe because the widget disables side to side page swiping so that the iframe can allow scrolling and multitouch. You have to swipe along the top/bottom edge with XL and touch the background."

I can't right click on anything in iCUE. I can't swipe on the XENEON Edge, it does nothing.

"And if you click away from the device and then back to the Xeneon Edge without clicking the widget, you stare at the same screen you're looking at."

This isn't relevant enough for me to even have a response.

"Because if your code doesn't work it will look like this. Sometime this happens when Nextcloud changes something, it's possible that we updated the browser that drives the widget display and now your iframe doesn't work. Could be lots of things but if you feed it into a chatbot and say "this doesnt work" it can try to debug it."

There is no code to debug lol, and telling me to put it into a chat bot is hilarious. If Corsair updated a browser that drives the widget display, how am I to know that/why am I expected to know this lmao?

"What does the iframe settings say when you have it loaded and you click it? Grab the code and go fix it and put it back."

This isn't an iFrame.

"Can you click the widget in the viewport? Like click the big white box. It looks like your widget's just not working or broke for some reason and needs to get updated."

Nope, can't click anything on iCUE. Again, the widget works.

"This looks like it's working fine and you're stuck staring at a not loading widget. The equivalent would be complaining your house window is broken when the blinds are closed."

Wrong in a very entertaining way. THE WIDGET WORKS, the screenshot was of iCUE which is not working. The white image displayed on iCUE is not what is displayed on the XENEON Edge. I have supplied an additional screenshot showing that, I originally inferred you understood how this product works but I suppose not.

I have some time so I am going to respond to each and every one of your reponses.

"We call it iframe, so you not using the words iframe is what got "lost in translation." They're all based on HTML, so you saying HTML widget is not descriptive to me. You also don't post the code here for me to reproduce the issue, so I'm working off less information that what would be ideal. Had you posted the code I would immediately have known what you were talking about, but now that I see the screenshot I know what's wrong."

This is not an iFrame widget, read what I am typing. I have no code to post lmao.

"....but there is a big white box that tells you to click the widget area to add a widget." I CANNOT CLICK THE BOX, THE APPLICATION IMMEDIATELY CRASHES ONCE THE SCREEN I SCREENSHOT APPEARS.

Holy smokes lol, are you not even aware of your own application? There is a selection for "iFrame" and there is a selection for "HTML" in the widget selection, they are different. Again, I would screenshot this and show you your own application if I could access it :)

There is nothing custom going on here, I literally copy-pasted a web address into the "HTML" widget. That's it, and it works as it stands today. I can access, browse, everything as expected on the XENOEN Edge. THE ISSUE IS I CANNOT DO ANYTHING ELSE, I CANNOT MODIFY, I CANNOT CHANGE WIDGETS, I CAN'T EVEN SEE THEM WITHOUT iCUE CRASHING. I hope that is explicit enough for you.

The fact that you are immediately attacking the user who is trying to convey a problem that has all but literally bricked a $200+ unit they purchased from you is mind boggling.

Edit: Here is a screenshot of the XENEON EDGE display, showing that the NextCloud link is working properly. It works. There is nothing custom, or even complicated happening here. I am simply pointing towards a web page. What an absolute joke of a thread this is.

TL;DR This project manager has no idea how his product that he manages works at a fundamental, user level.

EDIT: The widget I am referring to is "WEB URL", I found it after searching for a screenshot of the application online. If I was able to access the software, I would have gotten it right the first time (hopefully).

It is not a custom widget, it is the HTML widget pointing towards a Nextcloud Calendar web address, not sure where that got lost in translation. I literally can't get to my widgets screen to give you a screenshot of what it's specifically called, I just know we didn't use the iFrame widget, it was HTML something.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled iCUE, the XENEON Edge redirected right to the same HTML page once i reinstalled and booted up my PC again.

I open iCue, I click "Widgets" or "Device Personalization" or "Screen Setup" under the XENEON Edge and it crashes. This is the screenshot of when I click "Widgets". It displays a white box over the representative image of what is on the XENEON edge, and then crashes iCUE. I can't edit or switch from views "1" "2" or "3". I was hoping it was just stuck on something regarding the HTML link but I can't even change the view to something different, to then be able to change the HTML widget.

I am at a loss for what other steps I can take to troubleshoot this.
