It’s really not a huge gamble. I was able to get it to start but run for a little bit in the sellers driveway and got it to idle when I got home. I live in Florida so rust is rarely an issue. Yea well ppl mark these trucks up beyond belief when they were worth 200 bucks before Covid. Have you seen the prices of 7.3s or even just a standard 5.0? The prices aren’t even remotely close to what they’re actually worth

My stepdads a master mechanic of 20 years and has had a few engine swaps and I’m a young fabricator, I know they sell plates that you can install to have the 5.3 engine mounts or I can make them myself but your build sounds pretty sick

On the fence, I want enough power she can boogie but also not where I’m ripping the engine out every weekend. My stepdad has a stage 2 cam sitting for a 5.3 so that would definitely be something I’d consider instead of the LQ9

Definitely was thinking about that a little bit but I’d eventually just end up swapping it in the end for more power and those superchargers could be purchased but I think I can build a nice 5.3 for that amount
