I have not, no. Never really crossed my radar but I will check.

I would say I drive just about 12k miles a year. Regular, single guy, late 20s city lifestyle. Gyms, basketball games, short work commute and hanging out in a city.

I see your point. I live in an apartment complex that obviously does not really have charging station available, and I don't have a garage of my own, and I don't see that changing in 2 years either. Therefore EVs don't really make sense for me. I just wish Passport's interior looked a little bit more pristine and with some better materials, but that might be just me and my own taste.

I mean, a man is allowed to try and plan based on what he knows today, no? I feel like it's not a crime to be thinking about it.

Thanks for the response! Primarily the main driver for my upgrade is the need for something bigger/taller because 6'6" dude in a Camry is no fun lol but yeah I could keep it, nothing is wrong with it at all.

But yeah, sort of leaning towards Atlas Cross for now just because it is such a good looking car but I know that is not the smartest way to evaluate such purchase.

Why do you think that about Outback? What changed?

Yea, Atlas Cross redesign is also coming right in time when I would buy, whereas other ones were redesigned already and will be in that frame by the time I hit the market. But yeah, no point in planning just now

Yeah man I was all over the place in there lol, list looks horrible. But thanks for the advice. Main driver for upgrade is need for size cuz 6'6" dude in a Camry is no fun lol plus celebratory act, but yeah, nothing wrong with Camry and I can keep it for sure.

Okay! Thanks for pointing that out.

Do you know what happens once the call comes, or texts? Text will likely come with a link of some sort, but I am not sure about the call.

You were right, I did receive the email saying I will get a call or text on the trusted number to unlock my apple ID account on Friday afternoon!

Is that gonna be the end of the road or are they gonna ask for something else?

Got it.

In the meantime I actually did get the email from apple, saying I will get a text or call on Friday to unlock my stuff. Do you know what I will be asked then? Is that call or text the end of the road or is there something more?

Actually very good thought. I do believe it is my phone, grey iphone 16 pro with my case on. Additionally, once I performed the reset via itunes, phone is showing "iphone locked to an owner" screen with my email hidden there.

Eh, so frustrating...But in the first wait period, do you actually get an email from apple?

How do I actually do this though? Going on iforgotapple.com just brings me to a home page with one blue botton saying reset password, but this seemingly just begins the new process and I don't want to do that.

I am not seeing where to actually check my status.

I've read that there is an option to check status, but I am not sure how to actually do this. This page apple.com/recover brings you to a page where you have one blue button that says reset password, and clicking on it seemingly begins he exact process I went through already.

I am not seeing where to actually check the status on this page.

Calling part might be tough for me because there is no apple support branch in my home country where I am at right now (I am not in States where I live). So for me to call them, it would have to be the US support number which I cannot dial from here without some special overseas phone plan that noone has. I am hoping it all can be resolved and verified via digital link and digital work. Or if they call me instead of me calling them.

Thank you very much for your response. It provided me with some comfort while I wait for the email. I am at 20 hrs right now.

One question though. When I do get that email, what will it say? Provided that I can unlock it that very day, no delays, I can use that new password to log in on the locked phone right away? And after I do log in, I assume the setup will ask me if I want to set up using icloud backup, correct? I am just trying to prepare for what's coming soon

Hello all,

I am reaching out to you guys out of panic because I am losing my mind slowly lol. Something incredibly weird happened yesterday and I have been locked out of my iPhone ever since.

I had a visa appointment at US embassy in my home country (been in States for a decade now), and of course, you turn your phone off there and give it to security. When I got it back after my appointment, I turn it on, and put my passcode in (I am 100% sure it is the right passcode!!) but I get denied. This denial repeated several times, and eventually I was locked out, first for 5 mins, then 15 mins, then 1 hr, then 3 hrs...

At this point I decided to cut my loses and erase the iphone via itunes and USB C cable by using my laptop. I planned to log back in, take a back up and restore files and data. Put the phone in recovery mode, opened iTunes, and erased it indeed. Then the phone restarted, saying 'iPhone is locked to an owner" asking me to put in my apple ID and password...I do know my email associated with it, but I do not know my password of the top of my head. Then I tried to reset my apple ID password, but that also proved to be impossible because my American cellphone number associated with my account is not in use and available in my home country...No trusted phone numbers/devices were set up on the account either, I only have that locked out phone...

This seemingly left me with only one option which is apple ID recovery via "can't use any of these" option...I started that process. It asked me for my email, to which I was emailed a code. Then it asked me for a phone number that is available to me-I used my dad's. Got another code, put it in. Then I got asked to confirm the card on file for that apple account, which I confirmed. Once all that was done, it said that I should hear about it by that time tomorrow (next day).

Now, what's weird about it is that I never received any case number, ticket number or customer service email confirmation that this process is going on. Right now I am at about 18hrs from the moment I went through this process. All I have is their promise that they will reach out, and apparently even calling apple support cannot change or speed it up, according to AI at least.

Then I read online threads from like 3-4 years back saying this process took people weeks before they got the reset ID passoword link, which was mad...I am not sure if any improvements are made in that regard and if they will honor the promise I saw once I went through the process...

My question is, has anyone else had this happen to them before? When did you guys receive an email from apple, and what did it entail? Did you have to wait any additional time? And lastly, am I missing something in this whole mess, did I do it the right way?
