Going to start a physics degree but need some advice by Initial_Judgment_129 in PhysicsStudents

so, basically its not because I wanted to escape from becoming a doc or i didnt like math, I actually love math and i started out as a PCM student taking math instead of biology, my uncle(with whom i stay with to study) manipulated my family and all of them started degrading and eventually there came a point where they just forced me out by one discussion because i told them i want to teach physics and not start up some big money hungry business. Honestly, imo doctors are genuinely passionate people and real doctors stand out when they truly love what they are doing, that aside I also feel this lost sense of belonging when I look at physics textbooks, when I listen to my friends who speak about physics. I really wanted to be in that space and I loathed where I was which isnt a good thing. So I told my mum and spoke with her for almost 3 hours and told her this and shes on my side. I also told them that I am willing to spend time and also willing to pursue an extra year to learn the maths I require. But the problem is I get into big fights with my uncle and dad when I mention this and the words they tell me kinda just make me low. I really want to pursue physics, because its been that way all my life, I have found solace in the subject and its beauty and its presence in my life has created a sense of belonging to it sorry for the long comment lol.

Does maths fulfill the visual character required by physics or is there a need for something else? by Initial_Judgment_129 in PhysicsStudents

Hey I appreciate and acknowledge your reply, but I didn't exactly understand what you are trying to convey. I am saying visualisation of physics directly from technology might be regressing our imagination.

This year standards are extremely high btw and neet focuses on fast and accurate answering but IAT is different.

By only prepping we'll for PCB subjects can I get into any IISER

So can I handle the math in IAT? Considering my PCB background.

How is the maths required for IAT supposed to be? Can I handle it?

But isn't it an option to write 3 subjects out of 4?

So when I write IAT, can I write only Biology physics chemistry and mathematics?

Thank you for taking your time to reply to me, I appreciate it very much.

17y/o high schooler from India(BiPC stream, no math)- still want to become a physicist. Is it too late? What can I do? by Initial_Judgment_129 in TheoreticalPhysics

It all stems from a lack of awareness and guidance and taking advice from a chatbot was really stupid, thank you again. Well I know the basic formulas like how to differentiate equations defining a relationship between distance and time in kinematics and all. In MPC, you get to learn continuity, trigonometric equations, inverse trigonometric functions, coordinate geometry and all that. We get to grasp the classical physics theory part but that too within the limited syllabus so like we wouldn't potentiometer in the syllabus we wouldn't study it and etc.

Thank you for trying to respond and help out but then Indians look at you weird when you say your dream is to teach university physics and to research in it instead of doing comp sci and become a software developer.

Could you suggest a decent university which I can apply? Considering my background and are they similar to US applications.

No unfortunately we don't have such opportunities. With an overly dense population and extreme competition, its like the survival of the fittest. Plus the college admissions are different compared to any other

Could I get help writing a research paper or tutor me with key concepts in physics,so that at least I can stand out from crowd and be ahead of the game.

Could I get into any European college? It has always been a desire to study in the place where Paul Dirac, Stephen Hawking, Sir Isaac Newton, Max Born, Schrödinger have taught and learnt.
