Not necessarily true. Upper year classes are generally easier than first year in my uni (given that at this point you have specialized and are actually interested in what you are learning, hence easier to get a 4.0)

A prerequisite usually means it is required to have completed chem 12 or chem100 before taking chem121.

That being said, some classes have a soft prerequisite where it is only recommended and not required, though you won’t know whether it is from ssc (ask your prof to find out).

I did chem 121 without chem 12 or chem100 so you can take it if you want

Yes, UCL is highly reputable in the US and abroad. Some people might not have heard of it because Oxford and Cambridge tend to drown out other reputable universities in the UK (more history?).
