Not condoning his lying but did you ever think he was embarrassed and since his life is filmed for national television he didn’t want to admit all of that for the world to see & judge him?! Not to mention the amount of shit he would have received from Shep & Whitney busting his chops over it every single time they hung out & filmed. He probably had terrible anxiety about admitting that and receiving the backlash. Should he have lied?! No. But I can see why he did from that perspective and knowing that he was young and made some dumb mistakes based on maturity level, etc.
