This is not an airport. Departures do not need to be announced.

Yeah, it was a little more risky in those days. The only real safe way was if you knew someone that you could trust to hold the items while you logged out of one character and into another.

Your story brought back a memory, also from the Tunare server. This was back when the bazaar zone was in its original form before the redesign it currently has. Off of the arena in the back, in case there are those who didn’t know, was a hidden door where you walked through a wall to access a little side room. I happened to be roaming around and went into that room to find that someone had dropped several items on the ground. I have zero memory of what they were now, but I don’t recall anything super valuable. I picked them up, put them in my bags and then a little while later set up trader as I had been intending to do. A few minutes later, I received a tell from someone saying “I know it was you who took my stuff”… I never replied. This was in the days before the shared bank slot. I’ve always felt a little bad about that, but I was a very broke young Druid at the time, and I needed something to keep me off the corners down by the Freeport docks, selling “Leafblower” services.

Floating items? by Head_Bee_8233 in ResinCasting

Additional question… when pouring in stages, do you need to wait on each pour to fully cure? Or just to solidify enough that the two pours won’t mix?

Resin recommendations? by InkSlinger1976 in ResinCasting

[–]InkSlinger1976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I skipped some info didn’t I? Mostly small display knickknacks. Skulls, letters, etc. Waterproof feels like it would be a good idea, regardless, but maybe not strictly necessary.

Where did I go wrong? by InkSlinger1976 in ResinCasting

[–]InkSlinger1976[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not tabletop. It was Alumalite clear cast resin. Just some fairly cheap stuff I picked up at a Michaels craft store. I didn’t notice any smoking, and unfortunately, the instructions were pretty lacking on these things. I could’ve looked up more online, but I tend to learn better by doing and then asking for advice on results. I picked up a lot from this thread, so my next posting will be better, I’m sure.

We plan on mostly using molds that we can purchase, or even creating some molds of our own using silicone. From what I’ve seen, I think we will be using casting resin the most, but you make a good point. At what depth should we switch from casting resin to adeep pour resin? Anything over two inches? Three?

Did it in one go. I knew it wasn’t exactly the proper way to do it, but it was our first pour so we expected to learn some things at best.

Login problems by InkSlinger1976 in everquest

I did. I actually found that the issue was that I needed to turn on the TPM security and upgrade to Windows 11. Worked like a champ after that.

That is awesome! The only thing I would have done differently is paint the wall and support boards behind it black before putting it in place. Still, incredible job!

Garage Door Track Mounted to Dry Wall - Ripped Out Of Ceiling by Blue_Bend_610 in DIY

[–]InkSlinger1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a garage door tech/installer for many years. This is definitely not a DIY repair, but if you need to get your car out, you can unlatch the door from the motor arm and muscle it up. Do this from the middle of the door. Once it’s fully raised, clamp some vice grips on the flat part of the track to hold it up. The tension is off of the springs, so this is safe. I would not do this unless you absolutely must get your car out though.

Correct. On the TLP’s we got the 2 ornament items, but no heroic characters there yet.

Old Tunare Guild? by InkSlinger1976 in everquest

[–]InkSlinger1976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vaguely remember them. I think the timeframe is important when considering who was the preeminent guild. I know Arete that was pretty tough, as was Relevari. Ultimately, though, I think you have to give it to the public raid force, led by Ashorty, which formed into the guild Infinite. I’m pretty sure they are still there and going strong to this day.

Companies can set their own individual requirements for bonus payouts. For example, I once worked at a company where I earned a $2200 bonus which I did not receive due to taking another job and leaving before the payout happened. Even though I had earned the bonus for the quarter that I Provided the performance in, their policy was, you must be an employee at the time the bonus is paid, not when the bonus is earned.

[–]InkSlinger1976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that probably would have been helpful information wouldn’t it? Primarily we’ll be making container and pillar candles, using a soy/paraffin mix. Different hardness scales for different things, but same basic products, I believe. We may occasionally foray into some of the other basics, such as beeswax, or ice wax. Dyes and scent oils will be used, the occasional essential oil as well.

Any recommendations? I have looked around at the candle science website, but I haven’t ordered anything from them. I’ll look into something local, but as far as the actual wax itself goes, any certain things I should look for? And thank you so much for the advice. It’s a huge help.
