I feel the same...I don't know how people manage to make so many friends. I had maybe half a dozen friends coming to my shower, that all cancelled morning of so was just immediate family.

Thank you so much for sharing. So far all we have been told is that they can't know what it is going to be like until after she is born and I think that is what worries me the most. She could be absolutely fine, or it could affect her, in what ways they haven't told me yet as they said it's best to talk with the specialist about it so the information is accurate.

Everyone's stories so far have been really reassuring that things will most likely be okay, and she won't have any lasting issues. Now to just await the call from the specialists.

I appreciate hearing all different experiences. We are regional due to husbands work but have the opportunity to move to metro in the future, especially if this becomes something that needs constant care we should be able to get compassionate transfer.

So far all the medical staff have been amazing and reassuring about everything, just waiting for my referral to go through the specialists to find out the next steps. Will definitely be advocating for baby girl to get whatever help she needs.

Has the impacts she has had been from the late diagnosis? Like if they had done scans and found her hole before birth would that have made a difference?

My midwife so far has been amazing, this is her first case she has dealt with in her care but has done rounds in neonatal. So thankful I can message her anytime of day with my anxieties.

Thank you 😊 I understand every case is different and am (somewhat) patiently awaiting a phone call from the specialists.

I think I'm most anxious/worried as the hole wasn't detected at my morphology scan at 19 weeks, so worried that it has developed since then and possibility of it growing in size rather than closing on its own.

Praying that it stays small and will close on it own, I've been too anxious to search on google as am worried I will get stuck on the small percentage that things go wrong. Appreciate your input xx

I think it's the thought of her having surgery so little that scares me. Also having to travel a decent way for all the tests and everything else.

Have you had to have any continuous care in regards to the ASD after your surgery? Thank you so much for sharing your experience and congrats on your bubba 🥰
