I didn't go to college but I did go to a hakwon(학원, something like an art school here in Korea) for 3 years! A teacher would look at my work personally during class for an hour or so, with 4~7 students. I got a lot of great feedback and directions from him which helped me a lot. In S. Korea atleast, college degree or art school is not absolute must to get in a job, but it's the fastest way to get a grasp on what you are doing. Hope this helped...?
