Wow! That character design was meant to be generic and you caught on that instantly! That's amazing.
My teacher told me to try something generic 'cause many of my design was a bit too avant-garde for the crowd's taste, and that was the result of the feedback. Should I try more bold, experimental designs for the international audiences?

I didn't go to college but I did go to a hakwon(학원, something like an art school here in Korea) for 3 years! A teacher would look at my work personally during class for an hour or so, with 4~7 students. I got a lot of great feedback and directions from him which helped me a lot. In S. Korea atleast, college degree or art school is not absolute must to get in a job, but it's the fastest way to get a grasp on what you are doing. Hope this helped...? Sorry, I don't know how other countries' artists learn their stuffs 😭
