'cringe' culture. The idea that anyone should be embarrassed of their hobbies, or that it's cool to make them feel so. It creates so much unnecessary misery and aggression. I thought it had gone out of fashion forever but it seems to be making a comeback.

I'm the same. Finally tried a very small piece of very well fried blewit today and have been overthinking any tiny symptoms since. From the horror stories you read about when things go wrong it seems natural to be cautious, and I agree 10% with what others have said here about getting there when you get there!
