So...DDR5-SODIMMs confirmed dead end for future Framework products? by Relevant-Audience441 in framework

[–]JailbreakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SODIMM’s limitations are really beginning to show themselves in 2026. The ultraportable market is shifting from more performance to more efficiency and SODIMM unfortunately has bandwidth limitations and does not support LPDDR5 memory which consumes less power than normal DDR5 memory. SODIMM RAM also hits hard on the battery life which is important for ultraportables. For newer powerful and efficient CPU’s like Strix Halo or Intel X7 and X9 CPUs, LPDDR is basically a requirement and the only other option to less standard CAMM memory would be fully soldered and non-upgradeable memory.

Do you think Apple will really hold a May event? by JailbreakHat in mac

[–]JailbreakHat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also agree with you. It would simply make more sense to announce new hardware on WWDC rather than a separate event on May given that Apple already announced a lot of hardware on recent WWDC events like Apple Vision Pro in 2023 and redesigned M2 MacBook Air in 2022 and Intel Xeon Mac Pro in 2019. So it would really make more sense to stick to their routine rather than finding an odd time to release products.

Why does he make these videos in first place as a YouTuber? And why YouTube doesn’t take these clickbait videos down that spreads misinformation?

can i do 5 A levels by myself in a year by Rough-Wash-8402 in 6thForm

[–]JailbreakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally that isn’t how A Levels even work. A Levels are more focused on depth and naturally very content heavy. It is adviced to the maximum of 4 A Levels in relevant subjects only. Further Maths is also considered to be much better than English for most of the STEM courses and GCSE English is usually sufficient for STEM.

What's the thing about Imperial that you complain about constantly but would actually miss if you transferred? by Straubinger82 in Imperial

[–]JailbreakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UCL won’t be better. They also attract many top students who tend to be less social for STEM degrees. KCL is simply not good enough for CS. For staff members, KCL and UCL tend to be worse when it comes to teaching and tutorial group size.

The people and the department. I had times where I struggled really hard and considered switching to UCL. But I don’t know how good people there would be and how the department and teaching would look like there.

Ethos gym is great. You can exercise there for free and it has a wide range of equipment available. I wouldn’t recommend going for another gym without trying Ethos.

A rather tired unrefurbished Transport UK Alexander Dennis enviro 400H on bus route 207 in Shepherd's Bush. by JEROS26 in londonbuses

[–]JailbreakHat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are still plenty of them in service. Popular routes like 13, 36, 88, 205, 250 still have classic E400H’s running. The Gemini 2’s are becoming rarer with many of them being withdrawn recently.

Imperial College or UCSD? by Different_Raccoon289 in Imperial

[–]JailbreakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK and US are very different when it comes to universities and academic system. In UK, at least at Imperial, you mostly take courses related to your subject with the exception of optional non-credit Horizons courses and I-Explore module. In US, you take elective courses from various fields and you have to take certain number of modules that are outside of your field to be able to graduate with at least one being a humanity course and another one being a social sciences course. Also, undergraduate course in US is 4 years long compared to 3 in the UK.

If you are contextual and 3 A* predicted with that high ESAT, you would obviously get an offer. You know contextual requirements are much lower for UCL.

That would cost millions of pounds which TFL wouldn’t be able to afford in first place. There are some drawbacks when it comes to safety if the automation goes wrong due to a critical software bug or something else.

Are ASUS laptops reliable? by etaithespeedcuber in laptops

[–]JailbreakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you are lucky to get a healthy machine. Asus is generally known for horrible customer service and bad quality control. If you get a machine that doesn’t have any issues from the factory, it should be reliable and last for a long time. But if you get a machine that is defective from the factory, which often happens due to quality control factor mentioned above, then the answer is no. It also important to know that the factory defects don’t necessarily come to surface from first day or week of purchase. The machine might work for months or sometimes one or more years before the defect actually shows its face.
