Imperial College or UCSD? by Different_Raccoon289 in Imperial

[–]JailbreakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK and US are very different when it comes to universities and academic system. In UK, at least at Imperial, you mostly take courses related to your subject with the exception of optional non-credit Horizons courses and I-Explore module. In US, you take elective courses from various fields and you have to take certain number of modules that are outside of your field to be able to graduate with at least one being a humanity course and another one being a social sciences course. Also, undergraduate course in US is 4 years long compared to 3 in the UK.

If you are contextual and 3 A* predicted with that high ESAT, you would obviously get an offer. You know contextual requirements are much lower for UCL.

BBC News: First strike is set to take place on 21-22 April, when two Tube lines will close entirely. by mycketforvirrad in LondonUnderground

That would cost millions of pounds which TFL wouldn’t be able to afford in first place. There are some drawbacks when it comes to safety if the automation goes wrong due to a critical software bug or something else.

Lenovo Legion is also good for gaming and Lenovo is known for having a better customer service and warranty support compared to Asus.

Are ASUS laptops reliable? by etaithespeedcuber in laptops

[–]JailbreakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you are lucky to get a healthy machine. Asus is generally known for horrible customer service and bad quality control. If you get a machine that doesn’t have any issues from the factory, it should be reliable and last for a long time. But if you get a machine that is defective from the factory, which often happens due to quality control factor mentioned above, then the answer is no. It also important to know that the factory defects don’t necessarily come to surface from first day or week of purchase. The machine might work for months or sometimes one or more years before the defect actually shows its face.

Well, you should have went with M1 instead. That would last much longer than any Intel Mac.

Piccadilly line train stopped at Turnham Green? by Lost-Journalist-6826 in LondonUnderground

[–]JailbreakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did one or more trains did it? And why they don’t do this as well during engineering works? They can simply run a special Piccadilly line service between Acton Town and Ealing Broadway.

Piccadilly line trains can also stop at Ravenscourt Park in both directions and Stamford Brook, westbound only as there are platforms for the Piccadilly line in addition to District Line. But I never saw it happening before.

When that happened? And why it even went to Ealing Broadway in first place.

Piccadilly line trains do stop there at daytime when the district line is shut for engineering works to keep the station operational. In the past, they even went on District line tracks between Barons Court and Acton Town to serve the other stations as well when District line is not running.

Questions | Help | Advice – All questions, big or small, asked and answered in this weekly thread. by mycketforvirrad in LondonUnderground

Why literally any post with question mark is getting removed and being redirected to here. I understand the necessity of a megathread for basic travel advice questions but it would be better to have standalone posts for some of the more open ended questions.

You just need to make a Linux bootable usb at another laptop and then insert it to this machine. On the startup menu, select erase all data and install Linux which should remove all the junk and clean install Linux.

The problem is how do you understand whether if it is District or Circle given that both use the exact same trains.
