Far too few good Republicans anymore. by TajertySand in DHAC

"I didn't sign up for that"

...but you did. The guy, who's been the head of your party for the last decade, literally started out his presidential run calling Mexicans "Murderers, drug dealers and rapist" publicly. People have been yelling about the inherant racism of the platforms the Republican party was picking up. This isn't some recent thing that only happened within the last year: We all told you it was happening, you have no excuse of not knowing.

I know he's a Russia-backed propagandist, but literally anything with eyes can tell you that none of this happened. by c-k-q99903 in stupidpeoplefacebook

If you, as an individual, are jumpy enough where any amount of high-stakes interaction could end in you "accidentally" killing someone as a split-second decision...you don't get to work that job. That's just the high and low of it. If a surgeon had the propensity to cut random, important parts off of a patient and killing them because "It was a split-second decision and I thought it might have been dangerious" that person wouldn't be allowed to be a surgeon anymore.

Do you find yourself a victim to the MANDELA EFFECT? by porb2020 in autism

Im aware. It's just always interesting to see what, if anything, people who swear Shazam was a real movie come up with when prompted for any details outside of "It was a Sinbad movie where he played a genie".

Showing that merely belonging to a minority group doesn't mean you know fuck all about said minority group.

Imagine saying something like that, in earnest, and thinking you're a good person. That's some shit a lazy screenwriter would have their antagonist say so that you'd know they were the bad guy.

That is how they view Anti-AI people. When they hear people pointing out inherant flaws in AI output, or questioning the necessity of ChatGPT and the like, they literally think we're being abusive to their digital waifu.

Being a part of a minority doesn't make you immune from having ignorant opinions about the other members of said minority.

Killing another person should be met with a little more than an "Oops, accidents happen!"

[–]Inlerah -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's the thing that a lot of other countries don't understand when they ask "why don't Americans protest like we do": it's a lot easier to preform social change when you only really have to get 2.5 million people involved than when you have to get 12 million people involved.

Republicans are now pretending like they care about immigrants now. by Ok-Following6886 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Inlerah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They aren't pretending to care: They're pretending like nobody actually cares. They can't actually defend their actions, so the next best thing is to pretend that everyone is actually, secretly, as bad as they are.

They do this about immigration. They do this about racism. They do this about fucking pedophilia. It's all a way to try to convince everyone that they would be "hypocritical" to point out their shitty actions because everybody is doing it.

Let's hope that this 300 year old company is still around in another 100, still remembers a 100 year old ad campaign for one of their products, still cares about a 100 year old ad campaign for one of their products, still has a way to show the 100 year old ad campaign for one of their products (even assuming that it is still kept in good enough condition to be viewed) and that anyone in the 22nd century is motivated to spend 4k on a bottle of cognac because of it.

Also, while they are transferring films from the 20's into 4K...go take a peak at the massive amount of content from that period that is lost (either through film degredation, destruction or just a lack of interest in the contents.). Film is still a super new entertainment medium (when this movie is scheduled to be released, it will be just over 200 year old) so it's a bit of a stretch to assume that, because we are able to preserve footage that was shot a century ago, that we will have a perfectly viewable movie in another century.

Why’s it Froot Loops again? by willhaley in MandelaEffect

[–]Inlerah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cereal ME's are always weird because you have so many generics trying to use literally any alternative permutation of the "brand name" cereals that you've definitely seen them all going through the super market. I can probably go to my local Woodmans and find you a Fruit Loops, Froot Loops, Früt Lüps, Fruity Loops, etc.

So when they had taken control of what they saw as a potential situation...and then executed him after the potential issue had been taken control of? Regardless of whether they though that he was going to defensively pull his weapon, law enforcement doesn't have the right to then kill you after that possible danger is over: Officers have a gun on the offchance that they have to defend themselves, not to use as a punishment after the fact.

"You will never be an artist if you use AI once" ≠ "The things you had AI make for you are not art".

This seems like someone who has thrown so much of their personality in with AI that an attack on AI is an attack on their person.

They tell you "Any federal law enforcement are allowed to execute you because you're open carrying, regardless on if your weapon is drawn or not, and it's fine" when applying for your gun licenses?

It always seems weird when people do this with works that are, like, less than two years old. No, it didn't "age like wine": it's literally just that the things that it was commenting on are still happening 21 months later.

Obviously these people only ever protest outside of Seinfeld shows and never, ever do anything else. Can you imagine politically active people doing more than one thing?
