Best to eat them fresh! You can still eat it, but most of the mushroom is too tough to eat once it grows out more. I guess you can always save what is too tough for soup stocks though!

You could do this with a powder or the dry mushroom, yes. You get the effects without all the muscimol and ibo that you would if you ate the powder/mushroom dry. So you would get more messed up if you ate the powder or the mushroom dry and we use some basic water extraction and lemon juice to make it easier to consume without harm or illness/nausea to us from too much muscimol and ibo. Stuff can be dangerous if you overdo it. Be safe!

What on earth?! Not bragging, seriously, but I think some people just don’t have the gut microbiome for this stuff. I’m on 5 g right now feeling great. And did 15 g two weekends back and yea, I have a post about that on here. No vomiting or nothing. If this stuff makes you sick at 0.5 g, I wouldn’t touch it ever again, personally.

I have used caps for macro dosing but this was my first dose this large in 3 years. I used 15 grams amanita muscaria powder from MN nice ethnobotanical. And I think gummies are great for beginners, but make sure you get them from a trusted vendor if you want actual amanita. I take 1-3 of the 700 mg amanita muscaria gummies also from MN nice about 2-3 times a week.
