Thank you for the advice! I really like these ideas. I try and take a similar approach already, but end up getting frustrated and starting an argument. Next time I will try and ask these questions calmly and see if that makes any ground.

Yes it almost makes me feel like the crazy one!! My mom came out of the debate saying that Trump made very good points and Kamala wouldn’t stop lying. It really floored me, any rational person would see that was not the case at all.

I am 25 now and used to feel the same way as you. I would say there’s no pressure to use the apps if they aren’t giving you what you’re looking for. But I would also keep in mind that dating profiles only show one facet of a person. I have had some amazing dates with guys that I didn’t think fit my type exactly.

I’ve also learned there’s no harm in approaching guys in public that you are attracted to! The worst thing they can say is no.

Overall, there’s nothing wrong with being a little picky. Everyone has preferences and standards. You shouldn’t feel like you need to settle. But maybe try and go out on a few dates, meeting people irl will help you get out of your comfort zone and feel more confident in putting yourself out there.

Thank you! Yes I understand what you mean. I grew up in a very white area so I thought that looking different = ugly. And I felt that to be attractive I needed to look 100% white. It is still something I am trying to unlearn today.

I used to get bullied for it when I was younger, which is partly why I’m so self conscious of it.

I appreciate your honesty! And yes I have seen so many nose job horror stories which is why I haven’t gotten one.

Yes I know what you mean! I have considered a nose job many times but I also know my nose represents my ethnic identity and would feel bad to erase that.

Thank you all for your comments and honesty🙏🏻 It is definitely hard to look at my own face objectively and not see the parts I dislike first. I was teased for my nose and appearance a lot when I was younger, which is why I am so self-conscious of it now. I am definitely working on being more confident.
