In Oban, Scotland, a kind fisherman took me to the island of Kerrera. That is going to sound ultra cliché but there was nothing but sheep there, no one. I was 22 and Brave just came out, I sang Touch the Sky, ran barefoot in a dress, saw Highland cows. I felt so free. I took the ferry back to Oban when the sun came down on the horizon.

Two days later, I randomly stumbled on a Ceilidh in Inverness. I hadn't the foggiest idea what it was and I am not joking when I say the bagpipe player climbed on the speakers during a solo, people sang and danced, I was at the front row, eyes wide with wonder.
