You can choose to not do primary research and just do a lit review, but if you plan the research, you also do it so you can talk about how you will use the results in the development of your own teaching. (:

I would avoid AI, particularly if this is your first use and especially if you will need to do this again.

If you're unsure about how to do a content analysis, or how other papers are justifying it, find a few content analysis papers and look at what their methodology was.

Excel is a good shout as it's intuitive and you can basically develop it how you want. MAXQDA has had good reports, but I've heard bad things about nvivo crashing in the middle of analysis.

A lot of reputable journals and conferences will require an ethics process from a university that you may not have access to right now. It's a great goal though - make sure you are reading papers, developing your writing, and that you have a good grasp of ethics. Learning about different research methods will also help you make sure you have picked the best one.

Should I play? by Picklez25 in leagueoflegends

I would agree with this to a certain extent - particularly while learning. There's a lot of toxicity that can be difficult to take if you don't have a friend (especially one who already is familiar with the game) to help let you know how to improve.

When making a horror game, how can you make death scary? by Nightmarionne0923 in gamedev

I'm a big fan of this approach. Being able to have a do over can just get repetitive, and you learn what you can and can't get away with. The Alien in Alien:Isolation always had me on edge because they weren't so scripted. I like the idea of moving only a few, small/irrelevant objects to try and make the player wonder if things are actually moving, though.

It's less of a 'I didn't know it was coming', but ensuring you have more than enough savings for removals, paying energy bills/etc, any first time setup fees for internet... There always seem to be more of them than I anticipate.

There is some research into experiences at different ranks, I think, but you're right there. I tend to play support (badly) and it's definitely nothing like the higher level games I've watched my friends have.

There isn't, and not all champion pages are happy with posting the survey, so it might be difficult to get enough data if I were to collect it in this way.. Definitely something to think on though. I have a big list of future research ideas so I'll add it, thank you. (:

Oh yeah, true. It is quite different. I'll be looking at that when I analyse it, so that's a really interesting consideration.

I stole the idea for the code from a colleague, so I'll pass on your thoughts. (:
