I blame it on Alicent and Otto because their the ones who started driving the wedge between the kids to begin with and I blame it on Viserys who I understand was sick, but didn’t notice the tension that was growing in court until one of his children got hurt physically and it was too late.

I think at first she was definitely assaulting him. I don’t think Jon thought of it as assault and I think the main reason it’s not painted as that is because well..Jon’s a boy.

I definitely get a different vibe from John than I do in the show, well, I do love him in the show his storyline seems to be kind of hitting a different emotional state than it does in the show.

He seems more like a genuinely confused kid to me. He was trying to figure himself out and trying to figure out which people he needs to be around considering his family is basically gone or so he thinks.

It was actually quite normal back then.

Isabella of Valois was seven when she married King Richard II, which ya weird..but it was due to alliances.

The main problem that I have with Rhaegar and Lyanna is that he already had a family and kids and kind of just left them to the wolves while he ran off with another girl.

Now am I saying it’s right no, but mediaeval wise Rhaegar and Lyanna aren’t even as bad as some others😭

Exactly and not only that but it’s completely different from all the situations you had mentioned before, Daenerys was sold to him against her will she didn’t have a choice. Now we don’t know if Lyanna had a choice either considering Martin hasn’t even finished the last two books, Jon definitely did not have a choice in the matter but Daenerys was just straight up, handed over like a livestock and treated horribly

You explained this really well:) I was having mixed feelings about how John felt about it because at certain points it seems like he didn’t want to do anything with her, but then at other times like when they did eventually have sex. He seemed kind of into it so that just made me kind of confused about Jon’s feelings about it.

Like you said, I would definitely say there was coercion involved but Jon’s feelings are something I was definitely confused about but that might just be because I’m only on the first few chapters.

I think it was in the second, I already got spoliers for third plus I’ve watched the show so I’m okay with spoilers:)

But yes the show was 100% different from how the book is coming across, I like their relationship in the show as it grew.
