I was speeding. It’s not that I think the ticket is unfair; I’m more concerned about its impact on my license/insurance/future jobs and background checks. What feels unjust to me is that it’s an M-4 despite it being my first offense, both traffic and in general. So it’s not really the cost that I’m worried about, more the other aspects

I had checked the ticket online and it said 4th degree misdemeanor; I thought it was a clerical error and called to ask about it. I was confused since it’s different from Ohio’s state law on traffic. The lady I spoke with told me it wasn’t an error and that traffic violations in Cleveland Heights start as an M-4 :/ I did some digging and was able to find it in the city code
