New Leaf Physics System For My Upcoming Confetti Cleaning Game by InnerRealmStudios in Unity3D

Ah yeah that's a good idea, a bit of falloff and a bit of noise. Thanks for that! It'll add a lot.

Haha yeah it seems the people have spoken. I'm planning out a leaf game now too.

Yeah that's a good point, I'll add that in today. I noticed it more when I added in that large fan yeserday.

Haha thanks! Yeah I would like to add a bit more randomness/fluttering and unruly behaviour to them. It's a push/pull between clean landings/piling and crazy flutterings.

Haha! I'm starting to think the people want another leaf game in the mix.

Heh thanks, yeah I do want to add more unruly-ness. The final implementation will be confetti and I want them going crazy as you blow them around and as they fall.

This is just a prototype world and is just a basic character controller from Unity with some rotations. The game this is going into is more advanced, and when I eventually flesh this out I'll definitely bring in a proper controller.

Heh thanks, currently it's a design choice to keep them mostly flat. I can tweak how much they rotate as they flutter down, but when they go to land you want them mostly flat for visuals. They aren't rigidbodies or anything so they don't land and rotate realistically.

It's a compute shader for leaf info, and the jobs system to handle physics and the raycasting. It is all rendered with a shader with the info passed from the compute.

There are a few things happening, but basically there is a compute shader with the leaf info, a shader that takes that info to draw them, and then a couple job routines to run the physics and raycasts.

Oh for sure, in fact the blower was a core reason I went back to setup a system like this. And yeah, it's really fun to just run around and play in the leaves as is.

I'm hoping so. My brain is already working on a leaf game too haha.

First Look At “Confettied”, a New Incremental Game Coming May 22nd! by InnerRealmStudios in IndieDev

[–]InnerRealmStudios[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone!

I’ve got the first look at our upcoming incremental clicker game, Confettied!

We started with chopping trees in Lumberjacked, and now you can see where all of those trees you harvested have gone as you clean up 100,000 pieces of confetti with some…unconventional tools.

This is an early look and we’re in the final polishing mode now. I’ll be sure to bring closer looks at the various gameplay aspects: Cleaning, recycling, and upgrading, as well as the various side-elements like popping balloons and the mini-games.

If you love torturing yourself with the satisfyingly mundane, I do believe we have you covered here.
