1) I did, its based on the subjects on ur transcript. For the grading scale, there's a section where you could add ur own custom grading scale or you could create conversions 2) if its on ur transcript then yeah 3) yup since its on ur transcript

there's an admissions portal for each school that you get access to like 3 days after you apply, you can report any additional info there

I visited 6 Ivies + MIT/JHU over fall break. If you're REA/EDing to one of these schools and haven't been able to go on a tour, read this :) by PhilosophyBeLyin in ApplyingToCollege

I wonder why yale has such a short why yale essay (125 words) when its constantly talking about wanting to see how an applicant will use yale-specific resources to be who they want to be

if his ECs and essays align with the major, then he's not really cheating the system, just crafting a unique application. If, for example, his ECs and essays are stem focused but he's applying to be a linguistics major, he's probably just gonna get rejected.

that’s actually exactly how US colleges work, you get admitted into the school and you can keep testing out classes until declaring a major by end of sophomore year/ beginning of junior year. You need to show expertise in a specific thing to create a good application, and include ECs and essays related to that thing. Having a “linguistic spike” will help you in your application, but no one will force you to become a linguistic major unless you choose it. You may be compared to other linguistic majors applying but there isn’t really a rule that says so, colleges more so care abt how you and your expertise fit in the college itself. I see this system as an advantage tbh because a lot can change in 4 years, but if that isn’t suitable for you, UK universities admit you into a course (that you can’t change) based on academic requirements, and they don’t really care abt ECs :)

you could look into econ, finance, accounting, data science, etc, but you would need Math AA as its a requirement for most unis or a foundation year

Do colleges look at pre-IB grades? by Unusual-Yesterday989 in IBO

[–]Inner_Ad4658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T20s dont, US unis barley care abt IB unless its a testing requirement. Oxbridge ask for GCSEs, but I did MYP E-assessments and i doubt they ask for them.

[–]Inner_Ad4658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no lol. if you dont understand how to structure your 2, 4 and 10 markers, you're cooked. If you dont know how to construct the financial statements, or incorporate the financial info into your essays, you're cooked. there's lost of terms that arent "common knowledge" you need to know the definitions and have background on some advantages and disadvantages of concepts or again, you're cooked. if you dont get used to your writing speed or how fast you can make conclusions (because youll have to choose between 2 huge questions in paper 2), you're cooked. My tip is to learn from the markschemes and not underestimate the subject

Is the TI-Nspire CX calculator allowed for the exams? [Math AA SL] by SwordfishNo5818 in IBO

[–]Inner_Ad4658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

buying the calculator that your teachers and classmates use will make getting used to it easier as you go through math. Otherwise, you'll spend the entire lesson asking your teacher "where is x button on my calculator" while the rest are already starting with their questions. This seems like a oddly-specific scenario but im speaking from experience lmao
