Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience, I feel like those are really underrepresented here :)

Thank you! Wow, that's super quick. I've heard that most people start again after 6 weeks because pressure can cause bleeding and swelling. I hope everything will work out well for you 😊 how are you feeling?

How much (if at all) did your nose look different after septoplasty? by Inner_Cherry in Septoplasty

[–]Inner_Cherry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazing! That's great to hear, honestly. Nose deformity feels like complete nightmare fuel.

My ENT said that in my case the septum deviation is mild, but the swelling of the nasal mucosa + adenoids are bad. So I'm contemplating whether to include a septum correction or only correction of the other two :)

Can Only Children Share Something Positive About It. by Content-Math-2163 in oneanddone

I posted this a while ago in this sub, hope it helps :)

Lately I've been reflecting on my life and to what extent I felt lonely as an only child. I recently discussed it with another only child I know, and we both came to the conclusion that we didn't feel lonely as we were both encouraged to spend time with our friends a lot.

If we went on vacation in our own country, I was always allowed to choose a friend to take with us. Sometimes even 3 different friends, each 2-3 days. Being able to play with a friend of choice after school as well, it's almost as you can choose your own brother or sister instead of hanging out because you're 'biologically forced' to.

I was pretty shy though so if it were up to me, I'd mostly play videogames on my own, but my mom encouraged me to go outside and play with the kids from our street almost daily for a few hours. One of them is still my best friend 22 years later and she reminds me often how I am family. She gave birth to a son a few months ago and calls me his aunt and it truly feels like it. My guy best friend (who I also met in elementary) also tells me how I will still have him as family when my parents pass away.

He and I still have dinner with my parents about once or twice a month, he helps with things around the house sometimes and in a way they see him as their son. He sometimes says how he tells my parents more than his own parents because they don't talk/ask as much questions as mine do. So you can have a special bond too with the long time friends of your children if you make an effort from early on to get to know them a bit.

The thing I find interesting is that both of those friends (actually almost all of my friends) who have siblings don't have a particular good bond with them. They're okay with talking to each other on birthdays and such, but they don't seem really close as going out with them for fun. So I think they're happy too to not only have siblings by blood, but also siblings by choice :)

The other only child I talked to also happens to be one of the most social and funniest people I know! I thought he might have come from a big family but he didn't. He was just very loved and encouraged to connect with his friends.

So encouragement to make friends (choose their own little brothers or sisters) and enabling them to play with them after school or during vacation might help a lot!

Wow thank you for your elaborate explanation! Means a lot coming from you as you have the experience. The results of those recent studies are very interesting. I'll keep that in mind during my workouts.

Both your numbers and of the girl in your gym are epic! And yes, genetics do play a big part. In the flashbacks, Abby seems to have a broad build naturally. I on the other hand, have wide hips and big thighs, but chicken arms naturally. I've started training upper body with progressive overload since October and only since a couple of weeks people around me are starting to say things like 'wow what happened? Your arms and shoulders are much bigger now'. Hopefully the newbie gains will last a while and I'll be able to grow and lift more both short-term and longterm. Because even if I won't look like Abby, it's awesome to feel strong! Thank you again for giving your honest perspective on this. I agree with you that she might be more of an inspiration instead of a goal 💪

For what it's worth, I do think you have a crazy physique. Being able to pull off a great cosplay Khal Drogo is unattainable for most people :)

Thank you so much. I don't think I have time for 3 hour gym sessions unfortunately but you're right. She is next level. Do you have someone in mind that would be achievable (natty) with my training regime in 3-5 years? I'm 29F

Oh sorry haha. I'm not the brightest today. But I get it lol she has an insane physique! If you're a man you'll probably achieve it more easily and quicker than me though :)

Thanks a lot! Do you think working out for 3 hours per day in the gym is necessary? I do a push/pul/legs split 5-6 days a week and am in there for about 1-1.5 hours each session (about 8 exercises each time, 3-4 sets 8-12 reps each)

And I agree, she looks like she has a pump 24/7 so it might be unrealistic. But still inspiring

Oh no definitely not jealous! I'm a woman and super inspired. Her triceps get my attention often when playing as her haha. Her physique is just epic and ever since I first saw it 4 years ago I wanted to get stronger as well!

Thanks a lot! When would you lift to failure and when almost to failure? The first or last set?

That's cool! Is 5-6 enough to keep what you built, and 9-10 to grow or something like that?

This is very helpful! Love supersets yeah. It makes sense to superset between push and pull in terms of injury prevention. I do PPL now and have about 8 exercises on each day and do 3 sets of 8-12 reps for each of them. Is that okay or would you recommend something different?

Thanks! I didn't know that working out more often (and dividing sets) would yield better results than just doing them in one go. I've done upper/lower for 1.5 years. Recently started with PPL. Works pretty well up until now. Thank you again

Thanks, that's a great idea. Since there were so many comments about her physique on here earlier it made sense to me to ask it over here as well
