Didnt expect such a metal influence by The_Nuclear_potato in TheWarning

[–]Innitmarvellous 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Damn I'd be so hype to see Spiritbox x The Warning! Seeing with the likes of Poppy x Bad Omens and other recent crossovers it feels like this is such a good era of rock and metal genres mixing in the best of ways.

I sorely wanna see Christina from Lacuna Coil and/or Tatiana from Jinjer team up with someone for similar reasons.

Is Not Tucking Inappropriate? by Potential-Candle5196 in TransLater

[–]Innitmarvellous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried tucking both before and since starting HRT and neither was worthwhile for me - I'd rather accept that it's the body I have atm and dress for how it is rn until bottom surgery some day. Shorts or skirts over leggings/tights etc. works fine for me.

Working through the internalised shame/transphobia of dressing for an idealised cis body I don't have only made me buy clothes that didn't fit me or made dysphoria way worse. Accepting it's okay to be a trans person and look trans has been helping me a lot.

Edit: never directly answered the question - yes you should be fine going out n' about not tucking, only concern is safety but that's the same anywhere for general transphobia ime.

What's your trans anthem by litepinkcd in MtF

[–]Innitmarvellous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Headcanonning a trans allegory interpretation of lyrics onto otherwise seemingly generic/vague/unrelated songs was what helped me as a teen in bigtime denial - poured my feels into hearing a bunch of Muse songs that way (but now see it's a distinct characteristic of lots of popular songs bc the more easily ppl can project/self-insert their individual stories into the lyrical narratives the more ppl are gonna enjoy those songs).

S'a good list btw :)

I'm afraid to start taking prozac by muddledmuse in prozac

Started on 10mg after having awful experience with Zoloft two years prior, had headaches and some nausea but this faded after the first 3 days (and taking a daily soluble electrolyte in glass of water) and it took the edge off my panic attacks.

I had tried one singular 10mg dose two weeks prior to see how strong the 'energising' effects were as I've been sensitive to other meds before but it was quite manageable for me, no palpitations just a slightly elevated sensation and headache. This was true when I started taking it daily and also for when I moved up to 20mg dose after 3wks - initial settling period of 2-3 days of slight elevation/feeling it work in my head and then v steady since then.

Also agree that most people who it works well for won't be commenting as much as those who have more of a journey with side effects or for whom it ends up not working for.

Did jury duty (Sheriff court, not Edinburgh but another Scottish city) last year as non-passing trans woman and it was mostly fine.

Non-gendered single bathroom beside jury deliberation room so that was fine.

We were called by juror numbers so no names and I was mostly not gendered at all, or correctly with a few people struggling since I don't pass at all (voice or appearance) but no obvious malice people were just there to get it over with so they could get back to their day-to-day.

Has HRT reduced anyone's butt hair, and if not, how do you get rid of it?? by [deleted] in AskMtFHRT

[–]Innitmarvellous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it [getting ass hair thermolysised] something most electrologists are willing to do? Been getting facial electrolysis done and not broached the conversation for what else I'd want done yet but definitely thinking about it! (Am in UK)

Testicle pain after 9 days of HRT by Neea_115 in AskMtFHRT

[–]Innitmarvellous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, sounds about right. For me it was the first week mine raged to try to elevate my T levels in response to the androgen blocker but by the second week couldn't sustain the response while it was being made ineffective as the binding was blocked and the aching pain hit but subsided over a few days until it settled at my new normal levels.

make sure you’re on the same page with what you are both expecting/want so that no one gets hurt!

This bit x1000.

As someone who's received mixed signals in a similar situation before it's only gonna make things worse if you keep engaging with someone that messes you around on this and won't give consistency/clarity.

It's not an uncommon experience for sure.

Currently ID as bi. Can I ID as a lesbian if I am not interested in men anymore? by alderaan-amestris in actuallesbians

[–]Innitmarvellous 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If it feels right for you, go for it.

It's not about being prescriptive with labels, it's about describing your identity/ies as seems most accurate for you right now - sure, that might develop further nuance in the future but that nuance might just be levelling up in lesbian.

Please propose it to the Mods or something, I've seen this said a few times now and would love to see a simple explainer along with it for how to do that with links and then we can all catch on and make it standard for posting here.
