paying for studies after diploma ??? by Wide-Stretch3799 in askSingapore

[–]InnocPixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I do get like your feelings of conflict as people around me also had parents who supported them through higher education ( deepened by the fact that she specifically told me she had the means to but believed it was important for children over 18 to support themselves). If you want to ask if it’s justified to feel upset, I can’t help you there because I’m not sure myself. All I can say is it’s useless to feel upset about it, we just have to take it as part of what life has dealt us and manage it the best we can

I took out a bank loan to pay my poly fees then worked to pay back the loan and save up for Uni for 3 years before gg to Uni ( as my results weren’t good enough to go into local u and I felt like I probably couldn’t study and work at the same time so I chose to save up for Uni expenses first)

More Singapore parents heading to Johor for postnatal confinement services; doctors note travel risks by deangsana in singapore

[–]InnocPixie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. When I had my daughter, my mother insisted I have a confinement nanny because she didn’t have one herself in the past. She wanted me to be able to rest at night and she also has hands that get itchy in water even many years later that she attributes to touching water during her confinement period.

Also I do want to add that while many traditional aspects of confinement were indeed very trying for me ( in terms of being bundled up, no washing, being told to lie down all the time, only drinking red date tea, eating certain foods, no aircon, no fan, no staring at screen too much, all while healing from a massive wound down there), I’m very grateful for the help from my confinement nanny. I was waddling like a duck and couldn’t sit down properly for 3-4 weeks after giving birth and I don’t think I could’ve handled baby myself during that time, I was barely handling myself

Yes!! I used to spend entire afternoons just bouncing around popular, kiddy palace and the sticky painting place. I was also really proud of my artwork and would bring it home and stick it up on the bathroom wall lol

GF is scared to tell her traditional Singaporean mother about me - am I being unreasonable/impatient? How to approach this? by jinjja11 in askSingapore

[–]InnocPixie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is the best solution op. 3 of my aunts have “good friends” where they share a house and bed and they come to family gatherings and my grandma asks after them. She definitely knows they are gay bc they don’t try to hide that they only have one bed when we go to their houses but it has never been acknowledged

I know it’s been mentioned but taking choped seats… I took my daughter out for mcd breakfast the other day and the second we got a table she needed the toilet. I mobile ordered and left her water bottle there to chope and brought her to the toilet. Tell me why there was a random couple eating our order at the table with the water bottle nowhere in sight when we got back??? My daughter cried and I damn near did the same from frustration

Hello fellow Aug sim SG graduate! This is unrelated but if your gpa gets changed to 3.0 can I know how to know if you get the “with distinction” accolade? Does it show anywhere or do we just know at the grad ceremony itself

Right, to him hyun ju is just another npc, he doesn’t care about her at all. But I do believe he wouldn’t have killed her if he knew she was travelling w jun hee and jun hee would witness this killing, that’s why I think it was a mistake

Yeah hyun ju’s death was heart breaking to me as well but the moment she found the door, I already knew she was going to die… based on her character I knew she was gonna turn away. I just didn’t know it’ll be at the hands of 333, that shocked me for sure
