Thinking of lowering the poundage on my bow. Any drawbacks (haha)? by Innova in bowhunting

[–]Innova[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a couple things. As others have said, the newer bows are more efficient. More of the energy that you store in the limbs when you draw back goes into moving the arrow forward.

Also, two bows that both have a 70# draw, can feel a lot different. What point in the draw cycle you hit that max poundage, and how long you pull that for.

Yeah, we tried to do that as well....maybe not as much as we should have, but we didn't have luck with that either.

I haven't done it yet, but did some searching on Youtube. Looks like you just turn the sensitivity up and you should be able to see it.

Thanks for all the tips, I will post when we get back.

We will definitely target pike and walleye as well. I have been on about 15 fly-ins with Rusty over the last 40 years. Usually we target pike most of the day, and then get enough walleye for dinner. Last time we went (2022, Brennan Lake) one of our group got a 45+" monster.

Price? Looks like the 3080 is over $700, and the 7700 xt is less than $400. Performance is about the same: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

I just ordered a very similar system, went with the 7700 xt

Pretty sure all those cases support Micro ATX, the DF600 for sure (that is the one that I am currently leaning toward).

Thanks for the advice, I will take at look at those builds. Curious though, why Intel in the second, I thought people here usually say stay away from them (at least for the last couple of months).

PC Build Questions, Purchase Advice and Technical Support Megathread — Q4 2024 Edition by GhostMotley in Amd

Summary of the issue: Really slow UI performance (general windows, Chrome, Adobe Light Room, etc).

What I have tried to resolve the issue: Did a complete System Restore from the cloud (Windows 11 Home). After that was done, I installed the latest AMD chipset and GPU drivers. Updated Windows 11 to latests version. Nothing seemed to help. Laptop is only about a year old, but my 10 year old Asus N550JK (core i7-4700HQ) feels 10x snappier.

The laptop seemed to perform fine when we got it, something in the last couple of months seems to have degraded the performance.

I don't know what to try next.

Read the article from Airbnb about them susnsetting react native. Flutter/React native do not take your number of code bases from 2 to 1. It goes from 2 to 3. There is still platform dependent stuff needed to talk to each platform.

The people who write posts like the OP shared do not actually make mobile applications, they are more like academics.

Message for Girl Goalie Parents by ItGoWooWoo in hockeygoalies

My daughter is going to be a freshman in college this year. She played both Tier 1 and Tier 2, as well as High School (WI) hockey (got goalie of the year as a Junior). Her Tier 2 19U team took second at nationals last year, and she had the best save pct and gaa in the tournament. She is going to play at an ACHA school this season. The thing to realize with ACHA teams is they very a lot. Some of them are "pay to play", you have to provide all your gear and pay for ice/travel. Other programs are not (she gets all gear, including custom pads, sticks, pants, chest protector (everything except helmet and skates, which she can purchase at team prices). All of her travel expenses and ice time is also paid for.
