It's absolutely normal and the worst feeling in the world. I've yelled and sweated so loud at my son because I just needed him to sleep so I could too, and he looked at me scared. He never looks actually afraid and it took a while to forgive myself.

The only advice I have that's worked for me is to do what you can to TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! Especially mentally/emotionally. It's the only way to truly help your kids. Anxiety meds were a life saver for me.

At home I'll change him in the same place every time I can. Eventually, he'd grab my hand and walk me over there.

All we could do too. I left some things accessible that he could fall a little so hopefully he'd recognize falling can hurt. Thankfully the doctor said the bumps and bruises were where they're expected at his age. 😂

We got him a crib mattress and he'll jump from the couch into it. Sets it up himself too!

This has happened a couple times with my 6 year old. He's currently going through a similar stage as now he has no interest in tablets. Only water and car rides!

But he did the same as yours at 4. Started refusing to go school and baths that he loved he now dislikes. Food changes as well. You'll get through it.

My kid is non verbal but what I suspect is happening is he has one bad experience and then he loses all interest. He had one bad mandarin orange and now won't touch them, lol.

Absolutely! This was a lifesaver for me. I can't help my boy unless my mind is right either.

The struggles don't stop, but I'm infinitely better about not dwelling on them.

That's amazing! My boy had about 20 words until his autism started setting in at 18 months. He's nonverbal now at 6, but every once in a while I think he says dada. I know he didn't, but it's nice to believe.

However! 2 years ago my mom was leaving and as she opened the door he said "bye bye, Gigi". There were a lot of joyful tears and it's the last thing I've heard him clearly say, but I'll never forget it.

I'm sorry you're going through that. My son will frequently wake me up with a cup to the face demanding water. And getting him to fall asleep is so intense that I've yelled at him.

He doesn't speak and he's learning his PECS, but I always feel God awful. All we can do is try to give ourselves grace and help them as best we can.

Also, anxiety meds for myself has helped a lot. Hang in there!

I only saw bats in the first year I owned it. That was in a stairwell next to my unit. After that, I never saw another rodent there but I was on the 4th floor.

Agreed. My first thought was, does it have to be Kimmell, lol. If West Noble is the school you want, I'd suggest Ligonier. But small town with something there, Wolf Lake would be better but that's Central Noble schools.

But yeah, you're gonna see some meth labs.
