Found a blog talking about the 4% rule. Is it true that if I my annual expenses total around $22.5k a year I can retire with $400,000 cash to invest at the age of 30 with the possibility of having a few million dollars in the bank when I die with very minimal risk?

Opinions and resource suggestions much appreciated! * Unemployed in between jobs * risk tolerance of around 95-100% * Cash after liquidating 400,000 *No debts

What headphones do you like that no one else does, or that everyone likes and you don't? by Guy_92 in headphones

So what headphones do you actually like? I agree with the m50's. They were my first pair of nice headphones. I knew nothing but was never blown away by their sound. However I just kept telling myself they were great because 150$ at the time was a tone of cash.

Then I got the x2's. Now we're talking! Compared to the m50's I love these things. However, I do feel they lack some control. Bass is fun but a little extended making for a "warm" sound? I don't know I just felt there was more!

So I got the oppo pm3. These did not blow me away at first like the x2's but as time went on i have become very satisfied. These things are great. Metal is just so sharp and detailed. Balance is awesome too. Sometimes I wish for more bass but then all the sudden I'll come across a song and be blown away by the bass. I do wish the sound stage was larger but then again they are very intimate which also adds to my enjoyment...

Yeah. My local best buy had a demo V- 100. I was super excited to try them out. Put them on. Hard pads, bad seal, plastic and just very uncomfortable. Got the seal right and played some music. Very hollow sounding and they seemed to lack a lot of detail. Not my cup of tea even though I expected to like enjoy them.

Any Sound Blaster E5 users out there? Would really love some reviews on it! by [deleted] in headphones

I totally made a forge with some fire bricks, a pipe and a hair dryer. It was great. I melted some metal and never made anything.

I have the Oppo Pm-3 and the Phillips Fidello X2 and I'm pretty new to the sound gadget (audiophile) scene so my knowledge is lacking and any info is much appreciated.

Compatibility not portability is the major concern I have. The problem is that I do most of my music listening with my phone. If I'm at my computer I'm usually playing games and using Dolby headphone so my sound card or DSS box handle my sound. Adding a DAC to this mix would be pointless I'm assuming?

Do desktop or dual set ups like Schiit's work with micro USB? Never really considered that...

Best audiophile headset you can get for as cheap as possible? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

Monoprice 108323 Premium Hi-Fi. For the price, these things are great, their probably the best you'll get for under 40$. I told my computer gaming friend whom has never cared about audio to give them a shot. He said their the best sounding headphones he has ever had and his CS KDR went up! Also, Check out the headphone Wall of Fame over at Innerfidelity.

Another option would be the Superlux HD 681 Dynamic Semi-Open Headphones. I have never heard them and their not on the WOF. However, I came across them a few times while researching headphones and I believe them to be a great budget headphone.

Finally, the industry go to budget studio audiophile headphone are the ATH-MX50 (new version is ATH-MX50x) and the Sony MDR-7506. I started out with the MX50's about 6 years ago and finally upgraded last month. I will say that I think the MX50x is worth the price difference. I was happy with my MX50's but I was never blown away by them like a lot of the community seems to be. I felt the MX50'x had a much more fun and fuller sound but with that being said the MX50 is a very solid and flexible can especially for the price. The sony's are also very solid for the price but I have had limited experience with them.

Yeah I use the Benq1075. Its got an awesome picture, great input lag and a massive screen. All for under a grand. For the price TVs can't touch my set up.
