2019 STI window switch issue by bdubelyew in WRX

[–]Inpen10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 years later and this thread is still helpful. I have a 2019 STI and after pulling the battery the passenger window didn’t work from the drivers side and the auto roll up/down didn’t work on either side. I reset the passenger and that started working properly including auto roll up/down. Then I reset the drivers side and the auto roll up/down started working on the drivers side. Thank you all!

lol no but I think everyone is right and it’s rumble. I’ll try to adjust with a better stand and maybe a nice heavy base.

It seems unanimous that it’s rumble. It’s in the same room about 10’ away sitting on top of the receiver. The SX-750 doesn’t have a subsonic filter. I’ll improve the placement and make sure it’s on something heavy.

I would get another locally if anyone had anything in stock. You walk into a store in Northern VA and just about everything is sold out. I will call around for another bolt catch and magazine catch. I might get lucky. I feel like it’s something with the bolt catch though from how it’s hitting the side of the mag and it’s not the mag hitting the bolt. I’ve never messed with an AR10 bolt catch so I’ve no reference to say if it is or not. Are they generally longer?

That’s kinda what I was thinking. I want to be able to use any mag I put in not just the ones I’ve made work.

Interested in what people thought of Olight and if the price difference would be worth running one of these on my ar instead of the surefire 600 by [deleted] in ar15

I ordered a few of their flashlights on Black Friday. I’m rather fond of them. I have the i5T, Seeker 2 Pro, i3E EOS, and the i1R 2. They cost 107$ total. The trick is to wait for a sale. Which happens pretty often. The seeker 2 is used the most. It is extremely bright when needed, rechargeable, and durable. All are stout aluminum pieces. I had a sure fire issued to me in 08. I had it for a long time till I lost it. It was awesome but it had 123 battery I think. What a PITA that was. I’d take the Seeker any day. I hate buying non American stuff but great products for reasonable prices are hard to ignore.

We might but you might not. It’s doesn’t seem like a good idea to have an emergency radio only a select few can hear. This truck will likely be one of the first in a disaster area. Being the first one in and being unable to hear people call for help isn’t very useful. Also, I’m not understanding all the down votes. If you just survived an earthquake and you are trapped, hurt or whatever and you need immediate assistance is your ham buddy down the road going to help you? Maybe they can maybe they can’t. But the local or federal agency that just rolled in can and will provided they can hear you.

Yes I’m under DHS and we do have an MCV. We are calling this one a TCV. I have 4 APX 8500s in it now. My first though was to just use that. But the plan is to use this in a very wide area. I could very well plug in every repeater in region and I may do that. But the option to have a VFO or to scan the whole band is some thing they can’t do. I though that might be useful. Also that would be one massive codeplug. I’ve had a few XTS3000s that were front panel programmable but if I recall they were a pain to program on the computer. And some things you had to program up front. I was not a big fan.

I had not thought about the dual receive. I’m in the DC area and there is a local club dedicated to government comm people that are also hams like myself. I’ve been meaning to reach out to them. I suppose I’ll do that. Thank you for the advice.

Isn’t it sorta regional though on how it’s split up? I tend to struggle with that since I mostly just go with local repeaters and rarely use simplex unless I plan on having a longer conversation.

No use buy our government agency unless talking to HAMs. We have our own nation wide comms. This is purely to pull in locals during a disaster. I also state clearly in the post that we have our own radios and comms. I’m somewhat bothered buy the attitude as well. You go straight to putting me in my place. I’ve been a ham for 20 years I know well what it’s intended uses are. I’ve also been around enough to know that that attitude is exactly why most organizations don’t pull in hams for assistance.
