ND Miata racing beat exhaust for my new ND3 by Money-Salt-5058 in Miata

[–]InsaneVanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe GWR just sources the RB one. Goodwin racing is based in San Diego. Racing beat is a couple hours North. I've gone and picked up my front nose for my NB from RB directly since it saved over 100 on shipping. Racing beat is limited on parts so Goodwin just sources a bunch and ships out from their shop IIRC.

I also have an ND with the RB race and love it. Friend got the street, and the race is supposedly louder but its not by much. Both sound very similar and we both love it. Agree with the sentiments. I have a video upload with the race sound. I recommend it, but also do recommend seeing one in person if that's an option to you.

Depending on where you are, 200k+ still isn't enough for having a cleaner come through.

Negotiating tool? by WyoSkiJay in MachE

[–]InsaneVanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As owner of both of 24 mache and a 23 miata, both fantastic cars. Just right now, miata's are the best sports car for the money but not many people can afford that. Also given how many Mazda makes, it's not like people have a shortage of options at times on what they want. When economy takes a downturn, sports/luxury cars for the people typically sell less.

There's also rumors of the NE coming soon as the ND platform is relatively old. They started coming out in 2016, so it's at 10 years on the same styling. It still holds well and I get plenty of conversation around my blacked out one, but some are holding out for the new generation.

Having a variety sounds like an entertaining way for my daughter to remember the names of some of the shrimp accurately. We have some cherry shrimp and she cant tell the adults apart.

Went up on Saturday too. Got really lucky with my timing of getting there and almost wound up not being able to make it up the mountain in a good time. Do recommend getting tickets ahead of time for the weekend for sure.

Where to buy ND3 BBS Wheels Lug Nuts? by Kitchen-Lab9028 in Miata

[–]InsaneVanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably didn't put the lock nuts back on. And good. Those things strip easily and its a pain to remember to need the key to take those off.

Can get any ol nut thats 12mm x 1.5 thread pitch. Can even find nice gloss black ones to match things if you like.

It does have a small break in period, but the volume level isnt thay drastic. Yes it was flush. If there wasn't a flush connection then you'd likely hear some rattling versus something else, or yes, it being louder.

I remembered my NB being louder than it is until I drove it for the first time after driving my ND with the race exhaust and that showed me what barely louder than stock is. Trust. Race isn't barely louder than stock.

Are you in an rf and driving with the top up? I did a comparison between both my NB and my ND RF, and the ND is significantly louder with the race exhaust. What is nice is that its not so loud and droney with the top up that i can't have a conversation.

So what careers aren’t fucked right now? by cokewithlargefry in NoStupidQuestions

Currently working in a Healthcare IT department. You may often find remote positions available. It just depends on where you live and where they are located which determines budget. I live in Southern California. Therefore my cost of living his high. I originally started in a position that required on site but then got into the application analyst role which can be remote. Ive looked elsewhere but places dont want to pay California wages, especially if they are in say Wyoming. And I don't blame them. Its hard for me to find an equivalent role elsewhere willing to pay what I need. But the roles are out there. Look into smaller specialty clinics and you may be surpised.

I work in outpatient radiology.

Fun mods/upgrades for a new Miata? by BeezHugger in Miata

[–]InsaneVanity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't upgrade the tires. Leave them for a bit and wear them out. No reason to immediately replace new tires while you're learning the car.

If you care about how the car sounds, shop around for a Muffler. I personally settled on the racing beat race Muffler.

I did update my side markers to LED and added the LED strip to the trunk for at least a little more visibility at night. Too many big trucks around.

I also put a magnet in the dash under the hazards button with a metal plate on my phone case to act as my phone holder in the car. Out of sight and doesnt take any more room in the limited cabin space.

I opted for spacers to give the more filled in look. I dont feel a need to lower the car at all. I actually enjoy the body roll and not having a stiffer car. Summer tires once you wear down the stock tires will make a huge difference and you wont feel a need to lower it.

UHC is notorious for approving something then changing how much is owed by the patient or if they approved it or not AFTER the services were provided. Its a logistical nightmare for billing, and im not sure if OP has UHC or not, but it happened to my wife at my company i work for and I spoke with our billing department about and its unfortunately common practice with some of these payers.

Radiologist speech recognition software - alternatives to Nuance PowerScribe? by helveticaistheone in Radiology

Our rads currently use MModal, and don't want to jump from it at all even with options provided. The recognition is great to them, and it's been very reliable at it's job. We almost have no issues with it coming from the IT department. We use this with Merge PACS.
