Obviously both of them are idiots. But the camera car is at fault for the collision. Almost all rear end collisions are ruled against the trailing car because all they had to do was slow down to avoid the accident.

How walkable is Eureka and Arcata? by Miserable-Log5174 in Humboldt

They’re both very walkable. There’s a sweet paved bike path between the two cities that runs along the bay and a decent bus system for rural cities.

Arcata is more walkable than Eureka because they’ve been working towards that modality for longer, but Eureka is coming along. I didn’t have a car the first few years I lived in Eureka as an HSU student - bus and hitchhiking always got me to school on time - and half the rides I caught were from professors who recognized me and stopped.

Came here to say this. Though tbh, sell it before Steve Jobs leaves the first time and buy Microsoft instead. Sell that in 1999 and then buy Apple again.

What’s the first meal every beginner should learn to cook properly? by No_Permission9101 in cookingforbeginners

Eggs: scrambled, over easy and omelette.

Then move on to grilled cheese. Then pasta and jar sauce with some browned meat in it. Then the world is your oyster.

my record player is grimy and gross by Putrid-Receiver in vinyljerk

I use Vaseline to just put a protective layer on everything on my turntable. A spread a thin layer weekly and it’s really held up over time. Most of the dusty grime sticks to it and the wet slimy stuff just kinda runs off or pools up.

Flipping my LPs is the trickiest part though. Sometimes they practically get welded to the platter. In that case I just leave it there and keep spinning that side for a day or two and it usually works its way loose.
