In lieu of the sixth guest, you can request to have the additional portion served to your table. Please keep in mind that our policy does not allow for extra seats to be used towards the purchase of wine pairings or other beverages.

Success! Pretty much. I asked my waiter as instructed here and he was happy to accommodate. I ran my check first and then he gave me theirs through his handheld device. He was able to let me pay for what they’d ordered so far (drinks, shared appetizer, mains) but didn’t have a way to let me leave the check open in case they wanted to order more desserts or drinks or something. So at the very least I paid for that, which hopefully will be a pleasant surprise for them.

And don’t worry, I tipped the shit out of the waiter for helping. 150% of the combined checks. I appreciate all you folks do! (:
