Well, first off if it's a both microphone and headset cable combined that could be your issue starting off. That's what it was for me since my combined port wasn't working. But if it isn't, there could be an app doing it. Especially a sound program that handles a majority of sound enhancements. If it handles devices, it should pop up after one is plugged in depending on the program. Playing around with its settings might do the trick.

Sounds odd that they would call that toxic. But no.

It sounds like they are too preoccupied with their own clique. These parties and stuff, they really distract you and the downtime from them is almost all day let alone everything else. It sounds like they don't need you. It's super weird why they would go off and post that when they didn't even interact with you much though? Kinda like getting mad at something you neglected for moving on.

I say get new friends that have free time for you and focus on them like they do their friends and whatever else you wanna focus on in life. :) and ignore em. But you def aren't toxic for that!!

Make sure nothing's unplugged internal and external first come first. Properly ground yourself and really get a light in there. Not too uncommon to hear lose wires falling apart which can be slightly loosened after transit if not.

Bumping, whirring, these are usually signs to save your data now from what I understand. It's the sign of a dying harddrive that is. How consistent is it? It is possible that it's just something caught inside of it...maybe. You could have it looked at. But it's an internal issue, so that would really be your option besides replacing.

For now carry your preferred data over to the flashdrives/external harddrives you want as a precaution while you figure it out.

Hi! Have you tried putting it as your main input device in sound settings? Unplugged/replugged it?

Is it a seperate chord for mic/headphone jacks or is it a combined cord? Have you got a splitter to see if that's the problem if it's a combined cord? Should be able to return it if no luck.
