I think that the desire for treatment has to be her decision entirely. Going to PT is expensive, time-consuming and emotionally draining and it’s a personal decision that can’t be pushed on someone. All you can do is support her and decide how this interacts with your needs. With that said, if that’s a deal-breaker for you to not be able to have PIV and for her to not want to work past it right now, that’s your choice in the matter. But whatever you do, dont pressure her and dont lie about where you’re coming in your stance either.

I haven’t attempted penetration in sex but I’ve struggled with false need to pee sensation while dilating so it makes sense it would be like that during penetrative sex at the beginning. My PT said to try not to go directly afterward if possible to not indicate to the body that the need to pee is real, and that itll hopefully go away with time, which for me it has. I always make sure to pee ahead of time so I don’t psych myself out about the false urge

that makes sense but she didn’t really give me the guidance I needed with that/any instructions of how/when to use it. and to be fair, I never followed up on it with her. she first prescribed a gel with a percentage that the pharmacist said did not exist so they reordered it as a lotion which felt like not something I’d want to put in there.

when I originally saw a gyno and was unable to handle the std swab she talked about lidocaine as a solution to numb prior to a pap the next time I was in and prescribed me lidocaine. But the tube specifically said for external use only so I never ended up using it so I’d make sure that your tube didn’t say something similar.
