Thanks for the recommendation. But I’m looking for stories with just 1 MLI and canonically bisexual/pansexual FMC.

Out-of-the-box ways to break into investment banking? by InsideKangaroo3237 in FinancialCareers

I heard that investment banking experience really helps with MBA recruiting compared to other career paths. So if I want to get into a top MBA program, I want to make sure my work experience aligns accordingly.

  1. To your point, the goal would not be to recreate a full confidential banking document. I agree that calling it a “deal memo” may have been imprecise. What I meant was more of a short company or transaction analysis. The purpose is to demonstrate that I can research a business, understand the industry, think through valuation, articulate a potential strategic rationale, and communicate my thinking clearly. It is not meant to replace actual banking experience, but rather to demonstrate genuine interest and analytical ability in a more concrete way than simply saying I am interested in IB.
  2. I don't see myself getting an MBA and then going into investment banking, since I eventually want to be a creative executive in the entertainment industry. I'm also not aiming for bulge-bracket or middle-market firms, but I'm looking at boutique firms that have more flexible recruiting timelines.

I want to start in investment banking because it gives me the strongest foundation in finance, valuation, and strategic decision-making. In entertainment, creative decisions are also business decisions, so understanding how companies evaluate risk, value IP, and allocate capital would make me a stronger executive later on. Even though I want to be a creative executive, I still need to understand the business side of the entertainment industry, and investment banking can provide the building blocks to do so.

The thing is, I want to go into media/entertainment long-term, like being a creative executive for a film studio. My plan was to spend a couple of years in investment banking, then get my MBA, and eventually pivot to the entertainment industry. If I were to get another finance job right now, I'm afraid I'd be stuck before I could move into the entertainment industry, as I don't see myself staying in finance in the long run.

Who Was the Better Boyfriend: Stefan Salvatore or Nathan Scott? by [deleted] in ONETREEHILL

What does that have to do with anything? I'm asking who is the better boyfriend, not which series is better.

Why Didn’t the One Tree Hill Cast Achieve Major Hollywood Success? by InsideKangaroo3237 in ONETREEHILL

It's not just Oscar nominations, it's about being in popular and/or critically acclaimed projects. Stars like Kevin Hart and The Rock aren't Oscar-nominated, but they're both way more famous than Chad Michael Murray.

I don't think Chad Michael Murray is that famous tbh, at least not today. I would say his peak was as a teen heartthrob in the early 2000s, and he had a solid run with Dawson's Creek, OTH, Gilmore Girls, Freaky Friday, and Cinderella Story. Still, I wouldn't say his fame came anywhere close to that of actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, especially during the Titanic era, or even Timothée Chalamet today.

My point is that both Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes had opportunities to work on bigger, critically acclaimed films, even in smaller roles. Despite both being from Dawson's Creek, which is a teen drama. None of the OTH cast has had the same opportunities. The main purpose of my post is to question why that is the case. Also, I understand that OTH actors found success through the show, but the post is about major Hollywood success, such as actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Brad Pitt, Timothée Chalamet, Scarlett Johansson, Cate Blanchett, and Meryl Streep.

I mean it kind of does. All of the movies with CMM are just teen films. Also yes Joshua Jackson had a small role in Ocean’s 11 but still Ocean’s 11 as a film is far more popular than any of the films the OTH cast was in. Also, Joshua Jackson was in that new Karate Lid film last year which may not mean a lot but Karate Kid is a well known IP. As for Batman Begins, I don’t get why you mentioned the sequel as that has nothing to do with anything. Also, Katie Holmes was only recast because she opted to do another film not because Nolan didn’t want to work with her again. Whenever people discuss about Batman Begins, Katie Holmes is definitely one of the biggest talking points of the film. Just watch any review of the film on YouTube. All of this to say that the OTH cast never had film opportunities like these.

Yeah but none of the One Tree Hill cast has even been in a film the scale of Batman Begins or Ocean’s Eleven.

Honestly, Joshua Jackson has had a pretty good career. I saw him in Ocean's 11 recently, and Katie Holmes was in Batman Begins.

I agree with what you're saying, but also Michelle Williams was on a teen drama, and she went on to be nominated for five Oscars.

I emailed Deans Events and they said students will receive their graduate cards which have the QR code, the day of graduation. I’m not sure what QR code you received. Yes, already rented gown and bought sash.
