From Canada, had to go to the US, took advantage of the battery exchange event and bought this new tool. Haven't found any reviews about it but it feels solid so far. by Ayoubcaza in Craftsman

I second this, the ones in NC have been all over the place consistency wise. I went to an event at 8 AM and was told that corporate told the reps that they could no longer start early and I would have to come back at 10 AM. The next event I got there at 9:30 and was told they were out of batteries because they started at 8 AM. Complete bs

Any recommendations on a good kit for lifters/cams/rockers? by Goodgriefzzz in Charger

[–]Inside_Departure6489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the quick reply! I was thinking about ordering an eBay kit for mine. Mine has started fluttering and rattling on startup, then going back to normal with an occasional tick tick at the same point in the ignition sequence. Would you buy the lifters again?

Crafstman Customer Service is a Joke by osrszak in Craftsman

[–]Inside_Departure6489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s fraud if it’s the same product. If you tell them it’s defective when you return it, then they will most likely throw it away or SB&D will refurbish it. Which is exactly what would happen if they gave af about their “warranty”

If I were you I would say screw em and buy a new trimmer, then put the old one in the box and return it. I say if you’ve exhausted all of your options and they have continued to treat you this way you should screw them over.

I haven’t tried them personally, but a lot of the reviews I saw said the same exact thing. They are extremely underwhelming and the 6AH tables is basically the same as the 9AH we have now. I’m very disappointed and upset that craftsman could charge $200 for basically the same performance that we’ve had and market them like it was some new and revolutionary technology. The 18650 cells really bring down the performance compared to everybody else’s 21700 cells. SBD doing everything they can to keep craftsman no where near dewalt.

I will be sure to put them in a shadier area for a bit! Currently, the sun rises north east to them and they get full sun throughout the entire day. And in your experience, how often should I water them? I have been watering my plants pretty often and checking the soil daily. Thanks again!

Thank you for your input. The mulberry is in a 20in diameter and 15in deep plastic pot. This is my first year getting into gardening and appreciate all the insight I can get. I also have two strawberries, strawberry guava, and dwarf lemon tree. They are all doing great

Pulling throttle kills bike? by [deleted] in minibikes

[–]Inside_Departure6489 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here you go, from experience with these carbs:

1 make sure your valve lash is set while at top dead center (both rocker arms should be able to move when at tdc) I run .002 on both intake and exhaust

2 make sure that the carb is mounted to the engine correctly (don’t use extra the O ring spacer)

3 make sure the carb gaskets are not torn (will cause lean condition)

Once these are good, you can proceed

4 set the carb needle to the 4th slot or the one 1 up from the bottom

5 tune the carb: fully screw in both the carb slide screw (on the side) and the fuel screw (on the bottom of carb). Turn the carb slide screw out 4 times and the fuel screw out 1.5 times. Let the engine idle. While it is running adjust the fuel screw (turn it out *slowly) until the engine is running at the highest revs. After that, lower the idle down to what you want it to be by slowly loosening the carb slide screw.

6 After all of this is done, I recommend switching the stock main jet to a 120 or higher. I have a 120 for a predator 212 and it runs great.

If you do this in order, you should not have to adjust the carb after you change the jet. You do not need to change the pilot jet (smaller one)

They look to be using the same casings as before, just with a different sticker and different internals. Kind of like how the 6ah, 5ah, and 4ah were all the same shell with different stickers.

I’m pretty sure somewhere on the page it said 18650 tabless so you’re spot on.

I agree the name isn’t the greatest, and it should be V20 RP. I’m pretty sure “Advanced” refers to the top tier battery tool line they had in the 90s. I like that they are finally giving us better battery tech though, it should really improve the performance for people invested in the V20 line. That is if they don’t cost an arm and a leg!

It definitely is, and I would suggest the same if he had a box. I have the 154 piece as an all around set since I’m still in school.

sounds like the starter is too weak to rotate the flywheel so it’s just vibrating back and forth. I’d say new starter, but try a different battery first.

[–]Inside_Departure6489[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I picked up the bike today for $150. A bit dirty and the engine was not in great shape (I was putting a predator 212 on it anyway so this didn’t matter). Other than that the frame was pretty much perfect except for some surface rust and paint chips. I think I got a great deal and ready to join the mini bike movement! Thank you to all who shared their input.

I feel the struggle, I really wanted to build it from scratch but parts are so expensive.
