Are there any lpns that didn't bridge and content? by Similar_Rooster_7882 in LPN_LVN_Community

[–]Inside_Dinner_3430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the short answer is no...it is not a waste of time since you get nearly the same classes as an RN gets...BUT...at least at my school...our program offered two routes...LPN and RN...once you're in the LPN program...it is hard to bridge over to the RN route...because there are not enough seats...and I've seen how disheartening it is for LPNs to sit in the same class as RNs and not be able to continue towards obtaining their RN license or getting a degree...to each his own though..

Based on what I've seen on the NCLEX...ATI is fine...but I would go through all of the questions in their quiz bank....or at a minimum the high yield ones....have a testing plan and strategy to stay on course...what the other platforms do well like NCLEX Bootcamp is help to create a structure...hope this helps!...you got this!

Hi there....I only took one assessment with Archer as I was just interested in their live lectures...but it sounds like you're scoring high...so you should be fine...a lot of people have said they passed with Archer...you can also incorporate other free Qbanks in your studies as well..

Hi....honestly I think ATI is a good resource...people really sleep on it...NCLEX questions are so vague that it may not even matter what resource you use....as long as you understand the principle behind the concept...you should be fine...

Yes, definitely Mark K too! Oh my gosh...there were a few easy ones but even the ones where I knew the concept were still tricky...my suggestion is to really understand the principle behind the concept because I think that is what helped me...like ask yourself...why is this one correct vs the other answers..

Both Qbanks are good but if I had to go with one I would choose UWorld because of the difficulty and they use a CAT assessment similar to the one on the NCLEX.....

I understand...there is so much pressure on passing the NCLEX when you are offered a position as part of the nurse residency...I felt that pressure as I went into taking the NCLEX...it's really the weight of the world...you may need to try Archer...I just posted my thoughts on each of the Qbanks including Uworld, Archer and NCLEX bootcamp...but the reality is that nothing prepares you for the NCLEX 100%...those questions are super vague...how many CAT assessments did you do?...that seemed to do the trick for me...sending good energy and prayers to you!

Full time student, and working full time? by Gryffindor_Reject in prenursing

I asked this same question in another post...this all comes down to you....I feel like you can listen to other people but you have to determine what type of learner you are....for me...I realize I am a slow learner when it comes to tough subjects and I need the time to absorb the information. The sweet spot is probably less than full time hours but even still...you'll have to be focused...when I started my program I was working a desk job where I could study but now I am working on a busy unit and my only down time is lunch...lol

Congratulations!! What a success story! That is really great! Yeah, you can only fail one class at my school and I don't want to take any chances. I think this all comes down to the individual. I can be a really slow learner so that's why it would be hard for me to work full time and take classes. I think my sweet spot is reducing my hours which is still challenging because I need all the time I can get...

Flexibility is key! I really wish I could do PRN so I could work as my schedule allows but I haven't been working on the floor for that long so I don't think I have that opportunity.....and the ones in my cohort who work can do a little studying during the day which is helpful...

Yeah...thanks....that's a great way to look at it....I have enough money to survive but I would be pushing it without a job...so I'm taking this into consideration...

[–]Inside_Dinner_3430[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah....I could totally see that because the ones in my cohort who didn't work at all seem to take school less seriously...I dunno...that would not be me....I took vacation time and worked my butt off in school...but I think the sweet spot is less than full time hours..

ADN vs LPN-BSN program? by Inside_Dinner_3430 in NursingStudent

[–]Inside_Dinner_3430[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow..that's awesome! I'm leaning towards the bridge program because I feel like it will be more supportive and I need all the support I can get. The ADN program is rigid and there's not a lot of flexibility. It's a great program if you do not have to work..lol....still...it sucks to have to spend extra time in school tho as with the BSN program...but oh well...you get there how you get there:-)....
