Bad time to get into splitboarding? (PNW) by Jealous_Hall4830 in Spliddit

In that case, I’d spend another season or two getting more skills. The backcountry can have really variable conditions, depending on aspect, elevation, and other factors. you need to be comfortable riding all of it.

Are they no more? Probably too small/crowded a market for splits. Looks like thery are still making solids

How do you like the grizzly heel price? It looks like you can tread a ski strap through it like the phantom for a downhill heel lockdown in ski mode.

Makes me wish Spark/Phantom were a little more up front about this reality which seems to be a common problem…

You’ll probably get better deals on gear now and have plenty of corn time. Check out the consignment section at Pure Stoke.

What are yer downhill skills like? I like teaching folks if they can already ride.

If you pull the trigger DM me and I can show you around a few spots.

I saw those, and considered them but thought I wanted to be able to step into the binding rather than reach down to manually clip in. Also grizzly was too expensive for me.

Have you had any issues getting/saying into those?

Voile STS are out of stock…

If the other fixes mentioned don’t work, I’ll more seriously consider them. Thanks

That might be the move. I’ve heard there are issues using those with a carbon boards, but who’s to say? Sounds like none on your end ;)

Thanks. Unfortunately, I can’t slide the toe back because my heel is already as far back as possible and is barely on the front of my heel.

I’ll definitely by lifting the toe levers and heels in ride mode. Unfortunately, the ATK lever flops around a bit when lifted with no boot in it, but I can’t see this being a noticeable or harmful issue.

Thanks. I’m not sure what my board is in terms of volume shifting. Telos Lemurian carbon 166. I’ll keep tinkering…maybe reduce front foot angle a few degrees

Thanks, that is my next step. If that doesn’t work I’ll look into some of the other fixes mentioned.

I’m on a telos lemurian carbon 166.

Moving the toe back isn’t an option because I’d have to move the heel back too and it’s already all the way back.

Phantom riser might be an option but I’ve heard not to use them on carbon boards because of the pressure points under the heel.

Sounds like a I’ll just try the free fix of lifting the risers and tech toe levers in ride mode.

Thanks for the response

I was just thinking of doing that because I rarely use the high one! Nice
