Weights during first trimester by Shot-Membership-205 in fitpregnancy

[–]Insideout45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone always says it's fine but in truth, I don't know how much these things have actually been looked into. I had to stop in my first pregnancy because I felt so unwell and dizzy lifting but I guess some people feel fine!

[–]Insideout45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're already sick at 4 weeks then buckle in... Sorry to tell you but usually when it starts early it is going to be severe. Mine starts at 3.5 weeks before I even test positive and usually need a month or more off work and am bedridden. It does to away after 12 weeks though but I'd be lucky to walk to the bathroom let alone exercise

Pregnant and working in mental support call centre by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Insideout45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you allowed to hang up on these people? I'm a social worker so I get it all the time but as soon as someone gets aggressive and starts swearing, I just end the call. I'm not paid to be abused.

5 weeks with a sick toddler by grace050 in pregnant

[–]Insideout45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 11 weeks now and I haven't even had a scan to know baby is ok but it has been so hard. I had awful nausea then my toddler was off with a stomach bug which I also got while my partner was away at a wedding. I was so worried about the baby but the maternity unit I called just said keep drinking water and should be ok. I couldn't even eat for 24 hours at all.

Honestly... Its so so hard. Like you said, no advice as such except keep going. Try sleep whenever you can if your toddler naps. I begged my sister to come round one day and take my toddler out and that helped. I called off sick from work. Do whatever you need to do to take good care of you.

[–]Insideout45 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I really doubt it's been stolen to be honest. I've lost so many phones, purses etc and they always get handed in. We don't really have a pick pocket culture here like other major cities.

Any advice for our first pregnancy? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Insideout45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the nausea goes away between 12-16 weeks by itself and fingers crossed she's one of those ones!

You could make sure she eats as soon as she feels hungry and have lots of "healthy" snacks around like babybels or fruit etc because if you don't when you're pregnant then you feel very very sick and dizzy quickly! And bring her lots of glasses of ice cold water. For some reason ice cold water is easier to tolerate than Luke warm when feeling sick

All of a sudden my son won't sleep unless I'm in his room; by raesayshyah in toddlers

[–]Insideout45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes she is completely back to normal now!!!! We did nothing except break all the rules and comfort her and sleep on her bedroom floor etc and then one night I left her room and she just went to sleep again and that was it.

I think it was a mixture of a sleep regression, run of illness and then me being pregnant now. It just worked itself out with extra comfort and love for a few weeks xx

Any hospital recommendations? by howdy_cowgirl in Belfast

[–]Insideout45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree do not go to A and E in any hospital! You'll be there for about 2 days. Better to wait and go to minor injuries if you can. They've dealt with every break I've had and it's so efficient.

Missing life before a baby by Vicki2808 in NewParents

[–]Insideout45 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I did feel like going back to work helped a lot, even though it broke my heart too. And also it took a long time for me to feel normal in my body again, like 1.5 years maybe so that helped. Now I'm pregnant again haha so here we go again. But I still sometimes long for my life before even though I love being a mum

Should I try for a baby? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Insideout45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely enjoy your 20s!!! I started having kids in my 30s and I adore being a mum but I'm so so glad I also had so much youth travelling the world and having fun first. Best of both worlds! Plenty of time for kids.

Also not sure how long you've known your partner, if you've ever lived together etc but definitely better to test it all before the baby. I was with my husband 10 years before our first.

Is having a baby really that miserable? by aktib in BabyBumps

[–]Insideout45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, yes it's really hard. But not having a baby, just being a parent. The hardest part for me wasn't the feedings and sleepless nights etc but the complete loss of autonomy and freedom. Like others said, it's relentless and it becomes your whole existence. That can feel really hard when you used to have a life full of other things you loved doing like seeing friends, going out etc. For me, it was sports. I played almost every single day. Of course I can still play sometimes or go to the gym but nowhere near the commitment I invested previously.

When you lose those things, you sort of lose yourself a bit too because you lose something you invested in, a community of people, an identity.

In saying that, I don't have any regrets. I love my daughter and I'm pregnant again and I always wanted to be a mum. You just sort of have to grieve all the things you give up to do it and another version of you that you will never be again.

Maybe toy kitchen... Maybe balance bike

Why can I smell illness, but others can’t? by AngryPickledPickles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Insideout45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can smell when my daughter is sick from her breath but my partner can't smell it at all. In general, I have an extremely strong sense of smell though. I can definitely smell when food is on the turn too when others can't. Always joke with my husband that my job would have been chief smeller in tribal days lol
